Congrats on the videos, ninjabearhug! They seem very well done and are truly interesting as well; the Back to the Future Part II episode surely proved you're serious about the Quest, heh. I should also add that your accent is quite an intriguing mission to follow from this side of the Atlantic

Quite an interesting project, good luck carrying it on. I find the slowness of the 50Hz world rather amusing...

Considering the ones that haven't been mentioned yet I would name:
Boxing Custer's Revenge (?) Fantastic Voyage Fishing Derby Frostbite H.E.R.O. Keystone Kapers (already mentioned but it's my favorite, so just to be sure) Megamania (how come nobody remembered this one so far? Such a bag of awesomeness) Pac-Man Plaque Attack Seaquest Smurfs - Rescue in Gargamel's Castle

1. I'd always assumed that tectoy games came in cardboard packaging but these are in platic cases much the same as the normal master system games but with tec toy industria de brinquedos written inside, whys this? 2. Also the simpsons game cartridge doesnt have sega on it which is slightly odd. 1. We have only about 60 different games released in cardboard boxes; the rest (including some with cardboard versions as well) came in normal, nice plastic boxes. 2. Our red label cartridges do not have "SEGA" written on it; only the later blue ones.

Ahh, nice find... I've always wondered if I could get past the 500,000 mark; guess that's indeed not possible, then.

We have a thread over at Sega-Brasil which tries to consolidate our efforts on finding them, although some of the pics came from elsewhere (even from here). The content is in Portuguese, of course, but there are several pictures among the posts which are interesting enough: www.sega-brasil.com.br/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=427

I wonder if it's based on the SMS2 hardware or is it a single chip solution inside. Courtesy from rupert: I actually assumed that Tec Toy were still manufacturing some form of Mega Drive as well and just decided to use the same 6 button for both. I think it's more like it, indeed. Is it true that Tec Toy released an SMS Evolution style console with a guitar controller? That's actually a Mega Drive-ish console: Sorry to break into the thread... welcome, masterthomas.

Inflation rate was so ridiculous here at the time that it almost sounds like a joke to young students today. Guys with price tagging machines worked like madmen all day long; it was not uncommon to go to the supermarket in the morning to buy something, eventually get back in the evening to buy some more and end up finding you didn't bring enough money...
Anyway, it's been answered already; the letters are price related. Just as a curiosity, there are also letter E games, though the only ones we know of are Phantasy Star and Ultima IV.

Can't say for sure I'm not missing anything, though.

I myself have also avoided cardboard box games so far. Although it wasn't my plan at first, I believe I'll have to go with their foreign versions; now that PayPal has finally come to Brazil, it ought to be easier for me to acquire them (especially since some of them are relatively common for you, like After Burner, Double Dragon or Wonder Boy). I have found a few plastic box versions of some originally-thought-to-be-cardboard-box-only games over the years but unfortunately it's not that fruitful a hunt.

We've been building one for the last 3 years over at Sega-Brasil (you must register to access that section of the forums). Aside from eventual minor variations, the list is pretty much complete (although our level of "variation" for now goes as far as letters on the cover, numbers of folds on cardboard boxes and presence/absence of barcodes, mainly). The games are divided onto cardboard, white plastic big squares, white plastic small squares, white/blue plastic and blue plastic sections.
