Im in the US and have been (sort of) considering a japnese master system (not the mark 3). Anyone know how easy/difficult it may be to run? I know ill need, and already have, a voltage converter. How about the tv output? What would i have to do for it to work on a crt? How about an hd smart tv?

Welcome to the forum! You will not disappointed with the SMS! Are u in the US? If so, games are definitely harder to come by and more expensive. As far as games, Phantasy Star is a MUST own lol. Alex Kidd in Miracle World, all the Wonder Boy games. I would highly recommend, seeing as your an rpg fan, Golvellius: valley of doom. Also, Sonic. Which console did u get? I believe they all have a game built in. My model 1 has hang on/safari hunt. My model 2 has alex kidd in miracle world. Some model 2s have sonic. I just joined this forum earlier this year and its a great place for a master system fan. Enjoy!

Great question! This is pretty tough, and most the games i choose are similar to others. In no special, except for #1: 1.Phantasy Star -favorite game of all time. Play through it yearly 2. Sonic 3. Golden Axe Warrior 4. Golvellius 5. Castle Of Illusion 6. Alex Kidd In Miracle World 7. Wonder Boy 3 8. Cloud Master 9. Sonic 2 10. Power Strike 2 11. Psycho Fox 12. Land Of Illusion
AK in Shinobi World is actually my fave AK game, but its just way to short. There is quite a few more that were tough to leave off but this seems like a solid list for my enjoyment.

Well I've been playing NewZealand story lately and found it great , what about streets of rage ? You could go crazy and buy power strike II . The next game I'm trying is James Pond 2 , I think its got the best synopsis I've seen on the system , you got to battle the evil Dr Maybe and his penguin bombs . Back in the day all we had to go on was the cover and the synopsis so I would have been sold . I just picked up a Repro of Power Strike 2. I LOVE it. Its one of my new faves. I pipped it in, busted out the Control Stick and just had a blast relaxing and enjoying this game!

I was just thinking of starting a topic like this. Top of my list, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World. Too short. I really like the game and it left me wanting more. Joe Montana football. Had potential, but seriously, how does sega release a football game in 1990 only being able to play one game?!? No other modes at all?

There are pricey games too that are very worth if. Phantasy Star is my fav, that can be found $40 or so. Wonder Boy 3 is at the top of everyones list lol. Alex Kidd in Miracle World is worth a try. Also, there are Sonic games made for this, and they look great! Welcone to the forum!

So, as a US collector, finding euro SMS games here is next to impossible. As a rule, if im in a local retro game shop and i see one i dont have, i buy it no matter what. Yesterday, i saw 2! Indiana jones and shadow dancer. Grabbed both. Excited to bring new games hime and pip them into the console. Very disappointed with both games lol.

Wish i could. Would love to finish off the blue labels but the prices right now are just too much. Example, $250 for blue out run a couple months ago. Thats not worth it to me. Id much rather buy a new game rather than a variant of one i already have right now. But when that time comes (hitting the lottery maybe, haha) and i have the extra cash, ill message you.

Thank you! I have all 3 MK games and the first, especially the second are enjoyable. I did see the masters of combat is really short, otherwise i prob would have no problem with its price tag. I do have the glasses, so maybe ill hunt down line of fire now. Thanx again!
