There was an Alex Kidd model 1? Is the Sonic model 2 only PAL? Im thinking of picking up all the different NTSC consoles and im wondering how many were NTSC? I have the hang on/safari hunt one. Is there different model numbers on each, because sellers never mention what game is built in to the machine. Thanx!

This arrived today, its in very good condition! I also bought a cart adapter to go with it and a step down converter. You are gonna love the japanese console. The FM sound on the games that have it is awesome. Also really dig the rapid fire button built in.

Also, there is 4 games, sonic, strider, spiderman, golden axe warrior that are considered by some to be US releases. I dont. They are imports that have US upc stickers on them... They are imports, but they were imported by Sega, advertised in magazines by Sega, and sold in stores by Sega. That makes them releases. They were imported by random mom-and-pop stores selling them. Those would be considered imports. When the company itself brings them over and distributes and sells them, then they are releases. To each there own. I have the games, and have no desire to spend the high prices for just a sticker. Im not saying theres anything wrong with it, i just dont bother. That $ can be used on other gaming 😁

So, need a little help here. First of all, im not sure how this happened since i got my original sms brand new as a kid and have been the only owner of it. I just realized i dont have an official sms adapter and im curious to know if im causing any harm to my console. The more confusing part is that all the adapters i have, all official, are different! My console, underneath, says to use adapter 3025. Heres the number on that one: Input:120v 60hz 15w output:9v 1a
Now, the 3 genesis adapters i have: Mk-1602: input:120v 60hz 18w output:9v 1.2a 1602: input:120v 60hz 35w output:9v 1.2a 1602-3: input:120v 60hz 18w output:10v 1.2a Also have a dinky after market adapter: Input: 100v-250v 50/60 hz output: 8.5v 1.2a
I have a model 1 genesis and model 1 sega cd. Thats where all these adapters come from. So the question is, am i hurting my sms using these? Which one SHOULD i use for my sms? Should i buy the original adapter?
Side question if anyone knows. Could i use any of these on a turbo grafx 16? The specs for that adapter is: Input: 120v 60hz 15w output: 10.5v 730mA
Thank you to anyone that can help!

California Games had 2 re-releases? Whats the difference between them? There was a re-release that just had the blue label cart with original cases and manuals and a full re-rerelease with updated case and matte manual.

Segaretrorevival said one of them has the orginal cases and manual. Unless im mistaken, im taking it as not having any changes to the back cover and manual like all the other re-releases, just a blue cart.

Actually, i think it would be pretty easy. Buy a loose blueblabel cart, which always seems available then pop it into an original case. Done.

"maybe you borrowed a game to a friend and never got it back" This one. I lent six games to a friend (Cool Spot, Mortal Kombat (with the move cards from Master Force), Streets of Rage, Global Gladiators and two others I forget. All within a year of me buying them brand new, full price) and a few weeks later when I asked how he was getting on with them and when I might get them back he laughed at me and said he had sold them so "never". We stopped being friends at that point. That is awful! Ive heard of friends keeping games for years before giving them back, but this is crazy!

I just got the Woody Pop/ control pad set. Highly recommend it for anyone who has a Mark iii or japanese sms. I got a japanese console a couple months ago ( i highly recommend THAT too) and also purchased galactic protector, only to realize it only plays with the fairly rare control pad. I waited to pull the trigger because it was just too much, and i figured if i get it, im gonna get the woody pop or alex kidd bmx trail set. Well, it popped up for half as much as the rest of them and i said ‘what the hell’. Its a really nice controller, spot on accurate. To add to that, woody pop and galactic protector and both really fun and addicting games!
