4 weeks wait is finally over!! Great games I'm well impressed some rare titles that I don't have to worry about. I never thought I'd own ultima with both books! Almost worth turning 39 for ;-) Also thanks to keV for the Sega coin :-) That's quite the bundle, Ms nearbythiscafe is certainly a keeper , I wonder has she access to a genie in a lamp. Would be hard to top that come Christmas, I would start casually mentioning that you want a Donald Duck gift box set.

Are you UK based? Buggy run isn't that rare, it does come up quite a bit, best thing to do is search often and have money waiting. With a bit of leg work you can get them all cheaply, let me know if you want help I'm in N.Ireland, with buggy run I have seen a number of copies missing the manual or the manual is awful, I figure with the rare items if I have to fork out then they got to be in good nick. But yeah if you come across a copy let me know for sure. cheers

I have Back to the future 3, I am sure it will cost more to ship it to you then I could possibly want for it though. I'd explore closer options first if I were you and if you have no luck let me know. I don't see it racing off the shelf in my upcoming clear out. Hi yeah perhaps if you had a buggy run it would be worth the crazy postage but I should pick up a back to the future locally at some point.

I'm now approaching the completion of my goal for a full pal set complete with manuals.
Alas the following games elude me, I know it's a long shot as these are uncommon titles but if you are selling any of the following titles complete and in good condition let me know,
Buggy Run { does this game actually exist } Aerial Assault American Pro Football Asterix and the Great Rescue Back to the Future III Double Hawk Gain Ground Lord of The Sword Maze Hunter 3-D Missile Defense 3-D R.C. Grand Prix SpellCaster Time Soldiers Zillion Zool { retrocollect have this ranked as common, I disagree strongly with this ranking, the one copy I purchased went missing in the post which annoyed me greatly }
Looking at the list I could easily ' buy it now ' all them with the exception of buggy run from the european markets but I will try here first. I also have a number of games to trade if anyone is interested and will post a list later.

I'm guessing just because people quickly do an image search and then grab the first thing that catches their eye. Since it's getting used often, it might be that eBay's own algorithms suggest the image when people create the listing. On a tangentially related matter, I wish there was some way to filter out all the derivative items like the framed poster (a.k.a. something someone just spat out of a laser printer) you mentioned, refrigerator magnets, and "custom" collector cases that clog up my search results. There must be a small market of people who don't know any better who end up buying that stuff as gifts for their collector-significant-others, but it's a bunch of drek to me. yes this is one of my pet hates, even if you could just permanently block certain sellers from your search results it would make browsing so much easier, also the people who add key words to the title which have no connection to the actual item for sale do my head in.

I think the problem is that many of us still see eBay as the goto reference/place to buy and sell stuff, mainly because of the vast number of items and rarities available, and by how easy it is to do business there. EBay as it used to be in the early 2000s is by no means comparable to the eBay of today, at least not when we're talking about bartering retrogame-related stuff. In the early 2000's, when retrogaming wasn't such a popular hobby as it is today, people loaded up massive amounts of retro gaming related stuff on eBay at bargain prices (again, if we compare to todays prices) , probably just to get rid of it all (the eBay marketplace is, due to its sheer size, also a good place to get rid of stuff) Ever since then, the landscape has shifted, and the retrogame-colleting hobby grew in popularity, thus also increasing prices for articles from that hobby. Today you will still be able to find a lot items on eBay, and maybe even the occasional bargain, but for the most part you will probably end up paying premium for the things you want, even if they're just slightly uncommon. I see many of you recommending putting up auctions on eBay at a 99p start, to encourage fair pricing. And although the intentions are noble, I think you are forgetting that you have no idea who's buying the item you're selling. There are probably a lot of resellers out there, that are keeping an eye out for bargains all the time, and bid or buy if they see a sought after article, with potential to be sold for more later on. By putting up these 99p auctions, you might as well be helping some reseller grab a bargain to resell later on, especially if you're unlucky that there's not a whole lot of interest in the time where your auction is active, and it gets sold for peanuts. In the end, you'd just risk prolonging the high price levels, by providing the reseller with more stuff to sell. To put it short: If you want to make a difference, take your business elsewhere. I think we need to go further back to the roots of trading and swapping, and buying/selling stuff on forums and gaming communities, to get back to a more decent pricerange. Of course this is by no means a guarantee that the previous mentioned wont happen, but it would require a lot more effort than it would on major auctionsites. Forget eBay as a source of bargains, but instead take it as a place where you probably will have the best chance of finding that rare item you want, at a higher price. Great post, I agree with this entirely. It's important to note the difference between putting a quite unique item such as this up on a high buy it now compared to the resellers who what to sell sonic 1, 2 and chaos for £50. If for whatever reason I had to sell my collection I would auction off the bulk but for the rare items I would be wanting the best price because as you say if the collector's are not bidding for whatever reason then it's likely to be a reseller getting it.

I'd say the opposite with something like this, its unusual and the right buyer will pay a lot. Put it on a £700 BIN with best offer and see how high people go. A 99p start is risky if the right buyers are not looking at that time. You have already had £300 offer so that gives you a good idea of where this is going.. I would second this advise, history suggests items sell for less at auction, 99% of collectors will have no interest in paying top money for this no matter how rare, but their is always that 1% that will have to have it. Sure will be interesting to see what it fetches if the OP does opt to sell.

I know it's not super rare but what's the deal with alex kidd in miracle world, of course it was built in to many systems but what about all the sonic consoles and hang on consoles etc. In many peoples eyes its the best game on the system, was released in 1990 , it's strange not many people seem to have snapped it up, or perhaps it did sell and everyone is just hanging on to it because its quality.

The Italian guy has been selling 1 or 2 smurfs a month for 6 years now. Originally he posted a picture of a couple of shipping boxes, those have been long sold sso it's anyone's guess how many he has, if he was starting to run low no doubt he would be telling us. I can see smurfs 2 falling in price eventually

Yeah would be good if the seller was the original owner and perhaps have more info, but they bought it from a friend 10 years ago.

Yes same as the sonic and tom and jerry. Only no sega logo on the back or any official logo's. Don't think I'm going to bid an awful lot on this, once I get something like this it sets me on a never ending path to find others like it.

seller got back to say they will upload more pics, says its not any kind of repro , certainly interesting Did they send pics ? They did message me today and said they are back home and would be updating the listing, but nothing yet. They said its a glossy finish, I reckon it's a poster, I wish their was more info on games with their own poster as I want all my games fully completed eventually
