Coincidentally a friend of mine just offered me a GameCube almost for free. The console came with all cables, one controller and the game Super Smash Bros Melee. I'll probably need 3 extra controllers for full enjoyment of the game! Actually I've never hold in hands a GameCube before and I have to say it looks like a nice system!
But the last 5 days I'm playing once again Supaplex on my PC via DOSBox. I've completed it a couple times, but I never get bored of this beautiful game! Any other Supaplex fans out there..?

Never heard of Supaplex before but a google search later I see that it's a Boulderdash clone. Loved Boulderdash so Supaflex should be great

Yes, it's a Boulder Dash clone with way better graphics and an amazing theme! How cool is to collect items called infotrons through levels filled with printed circuit board and computer chips... I had this game as a kid and still love it!

My favourite Boulder Dash clone is Skull-Diggery on the Atari ST: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcns-AYkKoUSadly, the video doesn't show any of the later levels where things become a lot more difficult. I'm currently having a lot of fun with Democracy 3. It's an indie sim where you get to be President/Prime Minister of either UK, US, France, Germany, Canada or Australia. I've just added the Extremism and Social Engineering expansions so I'm able to make controversial decisions like banning homosexuality or compulsory church attendance. At the same time, I'm still answerable to the voters and if I really upset the hard-core political groups I'm likely to be assassinated. Great game.

Max Payne 3 which is a fine example about how not to do Cutscenes. I really wonder what Rockstar thought when they made all the Cutscenes with stupid graphic effects, flashing lights, oversaturated colors, white lines appearing and random words from the dialogue flashing on the screen. It makes those scenes hard to watch and adds absolutely nothing. Otherwise it's a fun game, not as great as the first two MP but surprisingly well done which fun missions I also play Mafia 2 which is great. I like that it starts in 1945 and then continues in 1951 and you can really see the changes. The music changes from Big Beat, Jazz and Soul to Rock n' Roll (great list of licensed songs), the cars change, the people and their outfits change. It's amazing. And in Multiplayer Double Dragon Neon which actually plays more like River City Ransom with Shops and upgradable moves. It's difficult but so much fun (especially in Multiplayer) and the music is probably the best since Hotline Miami. It has a great 80's vibe with cheesy Pop Songs in the style of Madonna and Glam Metal of course. It's so great, i even bought the Soundtrack separately

(Pc Engine/TG16) - Bonk Adv/Bonks Revenge/Bonk III Big Adv./Air Zonk (Arcade) - Karnov, Black Tiger, Rygar (Atari 2600) - Tutankham
I did finally get my internet up and running and a steam account, despite being a multi format retro gamer I have played a couple of demo`s of Euro Trucker 2 and Shadow Warrior. I feel Shadow warrior is an interesting idea with a FPS hack and slash but I am not sure It would keep my interest but i do like the humour. On the other hand Euro trucker two is some thing I can play to relax, do the odd delivery to pass some time away so I may well purchase that shortly, I also have my eye on Farcry 3 and the Doom BFG collections.

I like Euro Truck Simulator 2. I think it suits people (like me) who like the idea of flight simulators but are too timid to try them. With the truck, all you have to do is turn on the engine and you're away! I got it in the Steam sale about 6 weeks ago for £3.75, but it's well worth the full £14.99 IMO. There is also an Eastern Europe expansion available now which I may look into soon. My last purchase on Steam was Amnesia: the Dark Descent which is an indie survival horror game.

Mario Kart 8, which I noticed was harder drifting than SEGA All-Stars! Lode Runner for the NES, played thru all 50 levels (thankfully they had a level select so I didn't have to play thru all the levels each time I got a game over) really addictive. Tried the SG-1000 version as well, maybe not as flashy but still as great. Edit: I got it in the Steam sale about 6 weeks ago for £3.75, but it's well worth the full £14.99 IMO. There is also an Eastern Europe expansion available now which I may look into soon. Does the Eastern European expansion have dashcams and crazy Russian traffic incidents like on all those YouTube videos?

That is good timing,I paid £20 for the 'Gold Pack' which was for both the Euro Trucker 2 and 'Going East' pack. I love it and have gone off the road a few times while sticking my head out the cab window to admire the view, now that is realism lol

I feel Shadow warrior is an interesting idea with a FPS hack and slash but I am not sure It would keep my interest but i do like the humour. Shadow Warrior was a huge, huge disappointment to me. I really love the original Shadow Warrior, which is basically Duke Nukem 3D Asian style with the One-Liners, the crazy weapons and everything that makes political correct persons of today cry It can be downloaded for free on Steam. The Remake was just...well it is political correct. They took out nearly all the dumb One-Liners, all the asian cliches, all the "politically uncorrect" things and put some very lame "humour" into it. It does have some good sword-fighting mechanics though and the levels are big with a ton of secrets to find. I like the Rise of the Triad Remake a lot more, since it was a lot closer to the original and kept all the "so dumb it's awesome" stuff intact. Does the Eastern European expansion have dashcams and crazy Russian traffic incidents like on all those YouTube videos? It has crazy drivers, that's for sure But it's a surprising fun game. My longest route so far was from Munich to Stuttgart and then all the way to Felixstowe in the UK. It took ages to get there actually with various breaks at gas stations and Hotels to get sleep. Yesterday i finished Spec-Ops: The Line and that game confronts you with some "Holy faeces WTF have i done?"-Situations. I was surprised they went all the way through showing the horrors of War (there are games that are full of gore and try to shock you that way but i think nothing comes close to the horrible aftermath of the White Phosphor Attack you do in this game). Gameplay is a bit bad, especially the Cover system but i can only truly recommend the game. It's even better if you read Heart of Darkness which was a big inspiration to the story.

Hey all,
I'm new here, just thought I would drop in and throw down what I'm currently playing / played.
I'm still a bit of a Saturn whore, so I have just restarted Shining : The Holy Ark, having spent the last two weeks trapped in a Wonder boy 3 daze (one of my favourite dazes). I feel I'm going to have trouble on finishing Shining, as what with all the modern game worlds letting me butcher people, carry them to the top of skyscrapers and proceed to throw and watch I find it increasingly tough to tear myself away from the opportunity.
Recently I made an attempt at DayZ, my 'puter game me some issues, so I haven't done so yet, anyone know if it is worth it?
Cheers and a pleasure to join such a warm bunch of likeminded chaps and chapettes.

[360] Arkham City [MD] Wayne Gretzky NHLPA All-Stars
Arkham City is great and all but to be honest, I prefer the previous game's linear storyline and much smaller world than this much bigger sand-box gameworld.

Still having fun with Euro Truck Simulator 2. My favourite journey so far is Germany to Italy (or vice versa) through Switzerland. Beautiful scenic journey through the mountains.
Anyone take the time to observe all traffic laws and speed limits? Personally, I like bombing it down the road at 90mph.
