We are now heading towards those who have and those who have not. Where did the fun of gaming go? If someone buys a repro and knows it is, thats their own business.

Wouldnt that not deserve a ban? If I was able to, I would. As long as this member is not trying to pass the games off as originals, I don't see a problem. For some collectors (such as myself) that are not after a complete PAL collection, it makes sense to buy repos. I do not own any myself, but plan to purchase a copy of Power Strike 2 someday. I'm not into using emulators so its the only alternative to spending $75+. Just my two cents ; ) Or you could just buy a flash cart.

As long as this member is not trying to pass the games off as originals, I don't see a problem. That's exactly the problem, they are fakes that are being shrink-wrapped and passed off as new/sealed originals by an active forum member who knows exactly what he is doing.

Then that is seriously F****D UP. BUYER BEWARE!
Edit: Is it something more then Smurfs 2?

panama? He sells repros for sure but has done on here for years. I never done a repro of Smurf2 and I didn't sold a game on ebay for one year. When I sell a cartmodding on ebay, I always put indication about it. I never done a reproduction and I will never do one (reproduction for me is a copy of a existing game).

Check out panama's website, not one repro on there, it's all prototypes and conversions.
I don't think it's a good idea to flood the market with copies of games like Smurfs 2, Power Strike 2 and Buggy Run, it becomes harder for true collectors to know what they are buying

Just to be clear, i've no issues with repros that are clearly labelled as such, in fact some are pretty cool, interesting and well put together.
My issues is when they are not clearly labelled and clearly sold to con someone into thinking it is something it is not. I don't think any of us want somone on our forum who thinks that is okay.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? How many people have bought a fake i.e something they thought was real, from this member and been misled?
How do i know what i say is true? I offered to make him a website. Would i put my name to a website run by a conman or by someone i believed to be a conman? Would i heck. My reputation around this area, the area both me and this gentleman both live, is way too important to me.
I asked the process and this member told me, you go to his house, his website is no secret it is on his pictures. Noone gets conned, you are told 'its a repro which ebay frowns upon' thats called being honest. As someone that began reselling retro in 2003 and has worked with the public for 16 years i believe being upfront is the right thing to do, it earns respect. If this gentleman was a conman would he invite people to his house where his wife and young children are, or would he hide behind a pobox mailbox address? Think about it.
I have been selling retro games for 12 years, what was once junk is now sought after, i know what i am talking about, and if you want the retro scene to have just the genuine article thats fine, but no emulators, no everdrives, no cartmods. Which would make a lot of people look foolish.
This gentleman as someone with a family is helping people own something that is beyond the reach of most.
It seems a member is being singled out because it doesnt suit to defend him.

Thanks Andy A link to my auctions m.ebay.co.uk/itm/121736398559Cash on collection only, once purchased you get an email saying thanks and i hope you realised it was a reproduction. If you dont want it fine, no money as exchanged hands and i cancel the auction. If they want it they dont have to collect if they dont want to they can pay via paypal and receive via special delivery at no extra cost. There is a nice big link on every picture to my website. I have never advertised here because of panama, he sells copys and as a site. He was here first and I had no intention of setting up in competition. When i first did the repos i had the paper matched, i found a printer who could produce perfect copies of the books. I then stopped and thought no, im going to make reproductions that are good quality but obviously reproductions. So i never went ahead instead made my own copies using paper that obviously isnt original. Ive sold 4 smurfs repros, 2 to friends here and 2 to a ebay member. Ive sold 0 of the others The main games i sell are plain ordinary cart mods of tec toy, japanese stuff that you wouldnt get any other way. I sold my collection, was gutted and decided to build myself a modded collection and each game i make for myself i make an extra and sell. Ive sold to people all over the uk, done games here for people at cost, thrown in free games, given away 2 consoles on here. When my collection of mods is complete i wont be doing it any longer its a part time hobby that ive enjoyed doing between working and everything else. And if you think smurfs is expensive at 59.99 here is a breakdown: Cart and new case 20.00 Chip, ink, paper 10.00 Ebay fees 8.00 P and P special delivery 8.00 Total: 46.00 Time spent on making one reproduction, 4 hours... in it for the money, no, i enjoy doing it and i like people having games theyve alwats wanted to try. Not everyone uses emulators or can reprogram a chip and the only way they get to play these is games is by buying them off ebay.

Can't be any competition if we don't sell the same stuff Are you using brand new cartridge? And if yes where do you manage do get that. Your expenses doesn't seems legit. Anyway your add is clear so I don't see the problem here (sending a warning mail after buying is also a good idea). If you really spending 4hours on one game, then I hope you will progress as is something you can do in less than 1 hour.

Lol only the smurfs takes that long... the other around an hour max... the price is high due to the chips im using.. i dont like the china ones so ive been buying brand new write once only chips.
I didnt want advertise on here because of your games, so i never did.
I got lucky with the games, i bought them from game start in italy the one who sells the real smurfs. I bought all he had though lol
As you probably know once you mention the word reproduction on a ebay auction its soon taken off by ebay.

I only use the brand new carts and cases for the reproductions, all my other mods are old carts and re writable chips from china.
