Do germans hate french as much as the english do? There are enough reasons to hate the french. Things like the dumb nuclearbombing tests, their language, their cheese and wine (sucks i mean italian and german wine is much better and swiss and italian cheese is awesome), their 'We are the center of the universe and so important for the world'-thinking and much more But the french hate us too, mostly because of WW2 and they still think we are nazis Also if you had a choice what you go with NTSC or PAL I choose PAL of course. There must be a reason why NTSC stands for 'Never The Same Colour'

The PAL & NTSC thing really sucks. It would be so nice if every country could use the same system (and least you don't have to mod every console to play imports) Just take a look at the master system PAL games, most of them take 1/3 of the screen just for the boarders, really great if you play Super Monaco GP, the screen is so small you don't see anything @ Stan About Secam, just take a look at wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SECAMIt's funny with France, i guess the people there really think they're something special and they have to show it where ever it goes.

I doubt it. At first it could be any game, just showing a cardridge with not sticker is no evidence for me, there are no screens, and wouldn't a thing like this go around the internet at least as rom or in a forum? Well i hope i'm wrong it would be really great if this thing is real
I think it was around 1992/93 when Capcom started developing games for Sega (Super Street Fighter 2 for Genesis was the first i think), before this there were only sega reprogrammed games like strider.

As far as i know Ninjas aren't a Problem in Germany. The Game The Ninja has the Title in Germany also Ninja Gaiden is and was always called Ninja Gaiden (as far as i remember and my Master System Ninja Gaiden has this title too). I heard on a Ninja Turtles Fansite, that the Ninja problem comes from England as The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were called Hero Turtles there. In Germany they still have the name Ninja Turtles
With Contra you may be true but the very first Version of Contra was in Germany released under the title 'Gryzor' (Konami self had chose the title for what-ever reason, it sounds dumb) and it was Contra with soldiers, no roboters. The Probotector thing started later and was only on the Nintendo systems, whily Contra/Gryzor was released uncut on C64, Amiga, Atari ST and so one. I guess it was a idea of Nintendo to change the game. Nintendo also changed Wolfenstein 3D on the SNES (worldwide) and i bet some other games too.

I disagree Miracle World is more extensive in terms of gameplay with all those vehicles, underwater levels, more variety in enemies and not to forget the shop were you can buy stuff. Shinobi World is great but it only gets the second place as it is to easy and short.

In Germany the prices were usually nice and high Every Game was sold for around 120-130DM (which would be now 60-65€) except for RPG's like Phantasy Star which were sold for around 150DM (75€). I also remember Virtua Racing for the Genesis, it was sold for nearly 200DM (thats now the price for the gamecube). The Problem was, nearly the only chance to buy new games were malls and first they didn't know what these games are and then the though the could 5 years after the release still take the same price (You still had to pay around 70DM for Pro Wrestling in 1992). Gamestores were cheaper but back in these days there were not as much shops around as today. The Master System was finally dropped around 1994/1995 and the games were sold for 20DM. While the Genesis was available since around 1990 most of the people still bought the master system as it was cheaper and still in 1993 there were advertisements for the Master System (which is funny as the NES was nearly dead then) Until now the only price-tag on a game i have is for Out Run and the price was 119,95DM...normal price

Sonic Chaos is not so bad, the main problem is, it is way to easy. The good thing is you can play with Tails (but there is no 2 Player mode like on the genesis) and the bad thing is you can't finish this game with Tails The game has some new ideas like the flyboots for Sonic. The Graphic is ok, altough there are a lot of slow-downs. But its sure that Sonic 1 + 2 are a lot better Sonic Blast is from TecToy, i think thats the main reason why this game is bad, no programmers from the 'original' sonic games worked on this and you can really 'feel' it. The Graphic is bad, Sonic and Tails are to big while the enemies are way to small, and all has those shade effects and it just looks bad. I also don't like the controls, they aren't as responsive as in the previous games. The only good thing is, you can play with Knuckles but overall i think this is the worst Sonic game on the Master System (and a true candidate for the worst Sonic game ever, even Sonic R is better)

If you are interested in what is banned here, i have a site: www.bpjm.comIt has complete lists of all banned games/movies/books/music and it get updated every month. The site is in german, but it is easy to navigate. On the first screen click on the upper text, then you are on the main page and there just click on Indiziert. From now on it should be easy to navigate for you. Filme = Movies Computerspiele = Games Tonträger = Music Printmedien = Books & Magazines

Germany doesn't need a reason to ban something I guess the reason is Mercs is a military game and the only thing you do is kill people. If you wonder now why other games are not banned here: The BPJM (the organisation who ban everything) can not just ban everything they want. Most of the time normal people (mostly parents) send in a game and then the BPJM check it and decide if the game get banned or not. Since 2002 (after the massacre in erfurt) we have new laws (for games, music, movies and books), when the USK give a game a age rating (suitable for everyone/6 years/12/16/18) the game can not get banned. Thats the reason nearly no more games got banned (In this year only 3 games i think) At the moment are just 403 Games banned (which is nothing compared to the 3000 Movies ;D ) And sorry if i take this thread a bit off topic

Yes Mercs is banned and there is also Shadow Dancer but they don't mention the system, so it could be either the master system, the genesis or the arcade version or all of them ;D
That should be all banned games from the sms

Here in Germany Mortal Kombat 1 and 2, Rambo 3 and Black Belt are rare as they're banned and even in the early 90's you had nearly no chance to buy this games. So i surely would pay more for these games then people who live in other countries (and i had to pay 15€ for MK2) But I wouldn't call Streets of Rage 2 and Sensible Soccer rare, there always some of them on ebay here

Master System III was released by TecToy in Brazil. TecToy released a lot of different Master Systems, as the Master System Compact (there was also a 'girl' edition, this was the same system just in pink) and the Master Systems with Games (there are severals of this with maximum 105 Games) There is also a Dreamcast style Gamepad released with some Games (i think 25), you just connect this pad directly to your TV and can play. This is the Master System Compact: The Master Systme with the installed Games was just the Master System 2 in White and with a TecToy instead the Sega Logo. Also it use the 6-Button Genesis/Mega Drive Controller

I saw some ads for Godfather and a little preview on the sega magazine (just some little information with a maybe release date and no fotos). I guess that this game would have been just a conversion of the Amiga version (which sucks).
