all in all in 2004 i think SEGAMASTERSYSTEM.COM deserves the worst sega site of year award ! what have you gained from it ? apart from a forum that the owner doe's not even visit Now thats way to harsh. There are sites out there which never saw an update for 1-3 years, while the owner said there will be one (for example elafountain) At the moment the forum is the site, as there is nothing other and the forum is great so it is far away from worse, imo. Retrobob No offense, but maybe you should make a post like 'thread closed because [enter reason]' and not just close the thread and leave everyone asking whats happened. Thats the way it is handled in most of the forums i visit and it is way better than just close and don't write a reason why it is closed, especially when you delete some posts.

Just thought that locking that thread at that point was a bit crap, really. Well but better close before it ends in a flamewar about shinobiman and other sites... I was gona reply and say just forget the deadline, everyone go and do something else instead of just waiting round for it to reappear, and then it's a pleasant surprise when it does come back on and it's absolutely great. How can you forget the deadline, when you saw it every day you entered the site? I mean, most of us clearly wait for the new site. We are all anticipated to see what Shinobiman has done, isn't that a great sign, that we care about the site and don't think 'Well maybe someday in the future there will be a new site, but why should i care about'? What i don't like, is the fact that shinobiman just disappeared, at least once a week or once every two weeks he could've written something in the forum, how far he is with the work on the new site, that just takes 2-3 minutes and should be possible to make, even if you don't have that much time... Why is it necessary to move anywhere? I won't, I'll just go where I choose - and I more often than not choose to come here. It is not necessary until this forum gets closed. Its a great community and there are still new people coming to it, altough there is no main site. Like i said before, this is one of the best and friendliest communites i ever saw If you have been around since the start, and - like me - this was this site which reawakened your interest in it all, then give Tyler some respect for that, regardless of how enthusiastic he may or may not be about it all now. I'm pretty sure nobody is angry about shinobiman and i respect him for doing the site, it is really great. But i just don't like the way he handles the community now. It looks like he doesn't care about it anymore (i hope i'm wrong with this)

The same is here, we have a gamestore who sells used master system games and the prices are more than insane. For example Y's - Vanished Omens for 54,99€ and you get just the box and cartridge or Ultima IV for 49,99€ also just box and cartridge. I really wonder who buy this, when you get the same games in better condition for cheaper prices on ebay

I would say Enduro Racer, the behind-view is bad to play as you don't see enough (ramps, opponents), while the top-view in the ms version is better and the whole gameplay was enhanced. Wonderboy in Monster Land is better on the Master System (best version in my oppinion). The controls in the arcade version are bad and the time runs faster Shinobi is close behind the Arcade version, the graphics are better, but beside that i would say the versions are equal. All other versions are better in the arcade version, imo. Especially After Burner is really boring on the ms, while in the arcade its fun, mostly because of the cabinet

I have to agree with you, altough i don't think he sucks. I just don't understand why he took off the old site and giving him self a deathline for the new site (i even don't see sense in the million versions of sms.com, is there one? I mean the previous designs weren't bad or something). Why didn't he just let the old site online and saying on the forum he is working on the new one but he can't when its finished, that would have been much better than taking the site offline and disappear from the forum. Well but a least we have still the message board

Not being compared to anything... but for pure "what a crazy acid trip" type humour... Alex Kidd and the Lost Stars. From the metallic, strained "Find the miracle balls" to the crazy baddie on level 3 who drops his pants, moons you and seems to fart out blue flaming skulls.... That cracked me and my mates up so much that despite the games crapness... we played it until we finished it... many times! Playing this game the first time was a very strange experienced. I just couldn't believe what i saw there, all those bright colours, the strange enemies, the look of alex and his death scream. This game is one of the best proofs that the japanese are bizarre people ;D

This never happened to me, as back then i had more girlfriends and they didn't had videogames (and always wondered why i play those 'boring videogames' while they played with Barbie....weird World) and my other Friends had the NES and i always laughed about this 'piece of faeces' ;D
But i did play some games were my brother wondered why i waste my time with them. For example Ghostbusters (and i still like it) or Transbot (never liked it, but i had to play it as it was to expensive to just lay around)

Yes, and so many Manga and videogame characters do seem to have that traditional, fairytale Teutonic look about them - pale and blue-eyed, with very angular features and long, straight flaxen hair. I'd go so far as to say they have a bit of an obsession with the traditional image of European Caucasian men and women - especially women. Yes, i noticed that in a lot of games. Another funny example from the USA is Masters of the Universe. Just think about He-Man, he is tall, has a lot of muscles, blonde hair and blue eyes and his sign is the Iron Cross, used in World War 2 and still used as sign for our army. Back then a lot of people thought He-Man is some sort of Nazi

I was wondering, does ' Aleste' mean anything in any European languages? Maybe that is the German flag within those title letters on the front. Sorry for the late response, i didn't saw this earlier. Aleste is for sure no german (i always thought it sound a bit french) word and i guess the colors in the Aleste should be just fire or something, altough this game comes from japan and the japanese in some way like germany and our language, if you think about games titled 'Einhänder' or 'Ehrgeiz'. But i'm sure this is some just a case of coincidence with the colors

The japanese cover really look nice (altough nazca 88 looks more like the cover of a cheap comic) and much better than the us/eu cover. Why did Sega not use the japanese covers worldwide? I always wondered why the master system has such bad covers, i mean even the atari 2600 covers look better than the early sms boxes

I just got 2 Master System 1 both without built-in games, 1 Game Gear with MS Converter and a Master System Converter for my Mega Drive.
I got the second MS for free from a ebay seller (i bought around 25 Games from him) cause it was broken but it was really easy to repair and now it works fine.

I like the Pro Wrestling Cover. I mean the guy is holding his own head in a headlock. That's just freaky ;D
Most of the early box arts are just worse. Action Fighter, Transbot or My Hero are just ugly as hell. Most of the newer ones are at least decent, maybe except for the NTSC version of Aerial Assault, i don't like it.

The Sega Card. A bunch of games were released on cards and you can play them only on the Master System 1 as the others don't have the Card Port. I play on the Master System 1 Power Base of course
