On Kayfabe Memories there was a discussion about best wrestlers of all time lists and a topic about the best female wrestlers ever altough since the board has a cutoff year 2001 by now (thankfully, before it was 1989) it doesn't involve normal names. Anyway, i put a list together and shockingly, it got approval from some members who previously called me out for saying that Johnny Saint could be in the attitude era ("what is a johnny saint" they asked and i'm not kidding) 1. Aja Kong 2. Manami Toyota 3. Jaguar Yokota 4. Mildred Burke 5. Chigusa Nagayo 6. Lioness Asuka 7. Akira Hokuto 8. Dump Matsumoto 9. Megumi Kudo 10. Bull Nakano 11. Fabulous Moolah 12. June Byers 13. Jackie Sato 14. Toshiyo Yamada 15. Penny Banner 16. Noriyo Tateno 17. Mae Weston 18. Wendi Richter 19. Kyoko Inoue 20. Mae Young I stopped in the 80's otherwise Meiko Satomura would be in the list I really thought long about who to put at nr. 1. There were several candidates obviously. I chose Aja simply based on the fact that she has been active for over 30 years with no breaks (unlike Jaguar who retired twice for long stints), is still a big draw in Japan (current Sendai World Champion), was part of one of the best feuds in wrestling (against Toyota), has put on an insane long list of amazing matches (and still is involved in great matches like last year against Meiko Satomura) and isn't slowing down (unlike Chigusa Nagayo who should've retired some years ago, imo) and also ran her own promotion (Hyper Visual Fighting Arsion) for a couple years, which was pretty good. Also of course everybody knows that the master system pro wrestling game was released in japan with women wrestlers and dump matsumoto and her stable (still doesn't make it a good game though )

Aas i just wrote in the game club topic, if ever that was my choice if i got pressured to do that I lately got a bit more into the game again for no particular reason but (really i just thought "monster land, let's play it") i played the arcade version, pc engine version and with nostalgia the ms version remains my favourite. I can still remember buying that game along with 2 others (columns and enduro racer i think) in the day with my father and my brother, there are lots of memories and my earliest memoriest of cursing like a pirate (something that is normal for me) because the game overall isn't that difficult, the labyrinth in the end though with the time limit is evil I really like the game a lot and as i said i played through it some 2 weeks ago where i for like the first time took the downward path on the pseudo labyrinth (round 8), you have to jump over spiked but it makes you skip the entire closed town where you fight the wizard for some thunder flashes (and the shooting plants and crabs) a good shortcut actually. I really love that game

Sure, altough my choice for a would be game was just stolen (honestly, will explain it in the topic) but i can bring something up Edit: Considering the list already goes into 2018 (holy faeces) and there are more people, can i start in december 2020? no joke, that'd be my 30th anniversary with the master system )

2 months is insanely long, that would only be 6 games in one year

Somehow i had more positive memories of the game. The slowdowns are downright annoying and they affect the controls badly. The "music" is also annoying and just horrendous. The level design though is quite good with some diversity and secrets to explore. Altough i wonder why they added soe many items that ultimately do nothing really, the yellow potion just makes asterix break blocks which could be added as is without that animation and i don't even know what the bones actually do...
The first Asterix, in my oppinion, is miles ahead of this one.

Wrestling has changed a lot, Not really and i think that's the problem, it's stuck in the same world it was 8-9 years ago, nothing is moving forward. WWE is rehashing the same old crap over and over and bringing back old guys. TNA is dead. GWF never took off not that i ever though it would. Everything else also is stuck in a loop by now so much so that even the "7 year rule" doesn't work anymore.

In terminator 2 you can blantantly see Arnie isn't doing half the stunts... As i said, it's all about suspension of disbelief. It's even more blatant in TV Shows. In Knight Rider you can always see that it's not David Hasselhoff driving the Car or doing the fights but that doesn't take away the fun. Heck in the A-Team you sometimes see that it's not Mr. T driving but actually a white(!) guy. The same is still true today, barely anybody does his own stunts outside if Sylvester Stallone (famously in First Blood where he broke several ribs and his painful outcry was later used in Golden Axe ) I don't expect films to look real because it's a film and it's about capturing your imagination That's another thing wrong with todays movies: They don't even leave anything to the viewer's imagination. Back in the day movies would leave certain things open and undeclared so the viewer can think about it and come to his own decision. Like Mulholland Drive or the directors cut of Blade Runner. Today everything is spelled out, explained as if the film makers think the audience are stupid little children

effects are a lot better etc. I have to disagree with that. If anything, effects today are the worst they ever have been because everybody lazily relies on CGI and most of the time it just looks fake, unrealistic or there might even be some visible glitches. Take any old action movie, preferably from the 80's. Take Commando, the last 30 minutes of it, you have all those explosions, fire, blood splatters and it looks great because the explosions are real and now compare it to today's movies, the explosions, the fire, the blood...all computer generated and it looks horrible, they don't even try to make it realistic, either it looks weak or they go over the top making it look like a video game. Or take Ghostbusters. Take the puking ghost from the 2016 movie and compare it to the library ghost from 1984, both were actresses in costumes, in 1984 they used practical effects, puppetry and masks to make the ghost look hideous and scary when it turns, in 2016 you have this blue glowing monstrosity from a Scooby Doo movie, it just looks pathetic. And the problem is also that it just takes away from the impact. When you first saw that T. Rex in Jurassic Park appear it blew you away, it looked so realistic (and they were still mostly puppets, they only used a bit of CGI where it was needed) and when it went on to crash onto the cars and the chase it was a "Holy faeces, this is amazing!" moment while wondering "How did they manage to make it look so awesome?" while today you go "CGI *shrug*" or another example from my favourite movie Rear Window, they filmed it all on a stage, nothing was "real" but it looked like the back alley of an apartment block and the scene with the helicopter coming in, for 1954 looks damn impressive, might not look as great as today but you still wonder how they made that since it wasn't just "let's drop a CGI Helicopter into the scene". Another example: The Terminator. Granted, the first movie was a very low budget affair and it shows but considering you already have to suspend your disbelief (time travelling cyborgs...) when the Terminator puts out that eye and it obviously look like a fake head you can at least say "It's a machine, it's not a human, it might really look like that" while in Terminator Genisys when you see the 1984 scenes with the CGI Arnie he looks so unrealistic and fake, like straight from a video game, it just looks awful. Terminator 2 still looks awesome, real explosions, real fire, fake blood being used for the splatter but also some tasteful high quality CGI work that still looks good. Compare it to Salvation (the Arnie Terminator) or again Genisys.

and taking selfies every 10 seconds 😡 I don't go to theaters anymore (never was a big fan anyway since 99% of them here show movies with german overdub and back in the day cut and censored to shreds which isn't that big of a problem anymore thankfully) but this is a major problem in everything that features a crowd. I've been to a lot of concerts last year and what do i see? People holind gheir blinking phones up, taking pictures, waving it around, most people don't even watch the stage anymore, they way the stage through the camera of their phone...i mean wtf? And where people held up lighters they now hold their phones to make light, it's so....ugh and annoying. Especially in standing room only areas: Everybody in front of you is holding their arms up so they can make videos with their phones, blocking the view for everybody behind them Honestly smart phones where one of the most annoying things ever created. At least mobile phones had such crappy cameras that nobody wanted to use them and barely anybody had a digicam or something.

I don't even watch wrestling anymore, i'm still interested in it, i still follow the releases from Kayfabe Commentaries, play TEW 2016 (where Hogan and his blinking creative control drives me nuts) and currently read Titan Shattered from James Dixon, which is pretty good, but that's about it...

My theory about the cinema is that back when we used to go in the 90s/early 2000s, things were different. Of course they were. Things always change. When it comes to movies the biggest difference is that trailers back then were teasers, meant to stirr up some interest. Nowadays trailers already contain the best scenes, basically show you the whole plot and in certain genres even show you the antagonist, think back to how movies like Jaws or Halloween were handled including the trailers and compare that to today where they show the antagonist and don't make a secret out of it. When it comes to movies i'm like Michael DeSanta from GTAV prefering the classics and old movies over the crap they puke out today which is mostly remakes, sequels without or just some of the original actors and CGI crap without substance or all of those mixed into one crap of a movie that usually also has a political agenda tied to it (Like that abomination that was "Ghostbusters" last year, the perfect example about everything that is wrong in Hollywood) And my interest in modern movies is extremely low. I bought the Iron Man trilogy recently after a friend recommended it to me (months ago...) and i haven't even touched it yet...

Hopefully the German people send a message to Merkel next year in your elections and send her packing. Well i'm pretty sure she won't be elected again (if that happens i'm gonna live Germany because it's obvious that my fellow countrypeople are completely retarded) but the question is: Who will replace her? The CDU hopefully has lost its popularity, i can't see anybody in the party having enough brain to do something positive. Not when they all still hail Merkel as a hero. The SPD is the same joke of a party in red, they won't do anything. The FDP doesn't even exist anymore really The Green Party is the most despicable piece of faeces party on the face of this planet, we're talking about a party that several times contemplated making pedophilia legal, where the head honcho is a german-hating, muslim loving spiderpig, while the other woman high up thinks shooting terrorists is a bad thing and a turkish guy who is as shady as you would expect it. Sadly they are rising in popularity because all the crazy vegetarians and vegans (a current trend here in Germany) vote them because "they do something for animals!" Then you have the leftists, a left over from east germany ran by morons who would just do everything Merkel did so far, just 10 times worse (and yes, that's possible) And then what? The AFD is more concerned with fighting between each other, otherwise they would probably exactly what this country needs for a couple years but media is in an all-out crusade against them. The only thing that would make sense to me is the bavarian CSU splitting away from the CDU and Horst Seehofer becoming a candidate. While he isn't perfect at least he already was fighting Merkel over half a year ago, realizing what is going on here and what Germany turned into. I'm not racist and certainly helping people in need is a good thing but the way europe handled this was completely wrong and idiotic and the way germany, the media and the politicians act is simply pathetic. Censorship is everywhere, if you say something you get called a Nazi and in theaters we have pro-refugee propaganda movies playing

I got SMS for Christmas 1990. Same Well, technically my brother got it, since video games aren't a thing for girls...or so they thought I honestly can't remember all the games we had back then. I know it started with Alex Kidd in Miracle World (built in) and Ghostbusters but i can't remember what the next games were...maybe Golden Axe or Castle of Illusion. I do know that the first game i ever bought myself was Lucky Dime Caper after my birthday in 1992 and i know we got Aerial Assault on Christmas 1991. Amazing how you guys can remember what games you got over 20 years ago.
