Great set-up! And you did a wonderful job with dressing the cables. I've done a lot of roadie/AV work for live multimedia events and we appreciate that skill. Looks like you have the Nintendo consoles in chronological order, but you've got your Mega Drive between the Saturn and Dreamcast. Is it an issue with all the plugs for the MD/CD/32X? Took me ages to wire the cables up like that, but well worth it, I hate messy cables behind my units! It was actually a cable issue with the Saturn, for some reason my Saturn composite cable was really short and wouldn't reach properly from the next slot on! My SMS had to go up top because it literally doesn't fit in the unit, about an inch too wide !

Took some pictures this morning of my gameroom. As you can see, I'm pretty much allergic to clutter, figurines and posters in there picasaweb.google.com/107510876065947681857/Gameroom2014There's a bunch of other games and consoles in the attic that didn't make the cut. In cas you were wondering where the playstations, commodores en sprectrums were.. The sms is hooked up downstairs btw. The dvd's aren't really part of the game room but it's just outside on the landing. My dvd's and some figures and toys I've picked up from fleamarkets and thrift stores. Tons of clutter here edit: the picture upload isn't working (what a surprise) so I just posted the link to the album Very nice and clean looking! My eyes were drawn to the Play It Loud's, not often you see a full set, that Japanese white one is a pain in the ass to find in good condition . You know there's two see through models right? One with black decals, one with red I was gonna post some pics but photobucket appears to be down at the minute, so here's some links to vids of the set up and the games

I'm playing on my Spectrum. Mostly Trashman, Manic Miner and 3D Deathchase. I have the +2 model (the one with the built-in tape deck). It's incompatible with some of the early Spectrum software, but the RGB output is well worth the trade-off. Haha, I used to love Trashman on the C64, with it's rendition of 'My old man's a dustman' ;D! I'm currently playing Out Of Gas on the Gameboy, cool little puzzle/shooter/driving game, and I just started Toki on MD last night, not played it since I was a kid, lot harder than I remember !

Welcome aboard!
I too love shmups, but I can't bare to just collect one genre, what about all the great beat em ups and platformers! Be sure to check out the high score thread and get your points entered, there's a fair few shmup contests already running with some tricky scores to beat!
Have you got any collection pics?

Strider. The SMS version gets overlooked, but it's awesome! Are you feeling okay? The SMS Strider is practically unplayable given that your character's sprite animation is enough to trigger slowdown, never mind when enemies appear. How on Earth can you muster the strength to play it? I didn't mind Strider, the slowdown on the first level boss is horrendous though, but all in it was an OK game

Have you been on a anger managerment course. You seamed to be more relaxed :-) Haha, I only tend to get stressed with faeces games, this, although nothing particularly special was a decent enough game and well worth a playthrough

I was getting dressed the other day, and as I'd already decided I was making a vid I went to grab a gaming style T shirt, right at the top was my Sega8bit T shirt. I put it on and as I was doing so I realised how old and worn it was starting to look, so I think it must be about time we had another competition to design the Sega8bit.com official 2013 T shirt!!! Not sure on a timeline or anything, couple of months or something? But it'd be good to get it done by Xmas! So start designing and submit your entries here, I'll decide on a closing date and then all entries will be put up to the public vote to chose a winner, and then we'll all be able to buy the T shirts, the winner will get a free one, I don't mind stumping up the cost of that . Only rule is it must have Sega8bit.com on it somewhere What ya waiting for! Get designing!!!

This should be quite a fun competition, it doesn't take a lot of skill to play this one, and quite a bit of it is luck so everyone can jump in and play this!
My score was a paltry 13:38, I'm sure this can be done twice as fast, so get going! Game On!

I wasn't expecting Flintstones to be such a bad game to be honest, all my other experiences my Flintstones games have been quite good! I haven't played a lot of the SMS library properly yet so until I actually start playing a game I have no idea whether I'm gonna like it or not for the most part, if I pick a bad one then tough ! As has been mentioned, the goal is to complete/loop every game so it's inevitable that I'll come across a few turds, but in my opinion the SMS has by far the best ratio of good over bad games, rivalled only by the Game Boy . Anywho, on with the quest, episode 15 - Shanghai is now online, a nice relaxing one maybe?

They're both terrible and they both have a very dodgy rope on the last level, but once you master the controls of bttf2 it's actually not that painful to play. No matter how many times I play Flintstones I will never enjoy it, not only because of the bad controls but the whole gameplay, painting walls, changing tyres, looking after a naughty kid, it's my idea of a faeces day, so why the hell would I want to escape to it! And that last level made me rage like a mofo too!

You finished it quick!?! Did you play an original it use an emulator? I gave it a shot on an emulator when I was testing the cheat out and the controls didn't seem as bad as the real thing! As for the score, try "brushing" up on your skills
