I guess Ill respond here. My name is Brad. Im 39 (40 in August ... ugh) and have 3 kids (one of them is a step kid). My daughter is named Aeris after the character on Final fantasy and my son is Logan from Wolverine. Ive been into gaming for years and even competed in the 1990 NWC (I was a finalist in my home town and actually was one of the few people that got invited back to day 2 to finish competition ... if I had done better, I would have been one of the people to receive the gray NWC cart). I am a Dragon quest collector and have one of the most extensive collections known. I also am into Harley Davidson motorcycles and have a 1999 Sportster that has been customized from front to back. I collect body piercings and have almost 20 of them. I used to sell Hot wheels for almost 2 years as income and I still continue to search for one certain style : Rigor motor. Its a coffin on wheels and I have every single released paint style. One thing that not too many people know is that I played Everquest religiously for 11 years and for at least a year, I was the highest rated bard in the world. Finally my avatar name is Soera which is a twist on the continent on Miracle Warriors (Areos - Soera).

I've missed this thread completely, glad it got revived! It's been fun to read these stories - I guess I'll add my own to the collection...(although there's not much hilarious about mine ) As for myself I'm from Denmark, and I'm 29 years old. I come from a family which is part danish, part german, and since I have relatives on both sides of the border, I learned to speak both languages from an early age. I always found this to be a great advantage, especially because I grew up with german TV as well, and preferred to watch the german channels because there were a lot more interesting programs and lots more cartoons there I had a cosy and wellprotected childhood in the borderarea between Denmark and Germany, where I have been forth and back between those countries a lot to visit relatives, and to shop beer, candy and other wares in Germany, that are a lot cheaper than in Denmark After highschool, I moved away from home at the age of 21 and studied multimedia design for a little over a year. However, since the education kept being rather rudimentary, and only offered very few challenges, I broke off that endeavour in search of something better. I have grown up with computers and games, and have always been interested in the technical aspects of these. After multimedia design I therefore studied to become an IT Technician, which took a little under 3 years to finish. After finishing the education, I got a job at the local university, offering IT-support to the users here, and administering some of their IT-systems. And that's pretty much where I am at the moment! Been employed there for 5 years now, and very happy with the job. Besides computers and games, I have always been an active kid, I did a lot of sports during my early years, football, handball, badminton, swimming, table tennis etc. but I must say in my "older days" that trend has declined a lot, so now it's been limited to the occasional running session in the forest, or watching other people work their ass off during a football game I have also been interested in music a lot, as quite a few of you I've also been a lot into metal, mostly death/black metal. I have been to a few festivals as well in that regard. I've been to Roskilde Festival and Wacken Open Air for a few years. I have been playing guitar for a number of years as a hobby, too. I have done some travelling as well, but not to any of the exotic or faraway places that some of you have (although I'd like to at some point) I've been mainly to France, England, Sweden, Norway and of course the regular trips to Germany - Going to Prague this summer, which I am also looking forward to

Cool! Makes me wonder, lets speculate that you did go on and win a NWC cart and kept it all these years. Would the personal nostalgic value of having an original NWC cart overshadow the monetary value you could get for it? In other words, would you have sold the cart as it's worth quite a lot or would it have meant to much for you to sell? Going to Prague this summer, which I am also looking forward to Maybe you will find a bunch of Smurfs 2 games like that Finnish guy did 14 years ago

And if I had actually gotten the NWC cart, it would still be my prized possession.

That brings me onto something sort of interesting, I met Laura in 2008 via internet dating. I´ve met my best friend and my former girlfriend as well after being friends on the web at first. Before 2010, the people were a lot friendlier in the world wide web than today, regarded to all the social media platforms. She is still one of my best friends, even after our relationship has ended. I still love her and have no problem to say that to everybody. But there is no chance to try it again, sadly. My daughter is named Aeris Wow, that´s a beautiful name! It´s like Selan from Lufia, a name that I love. and my son is Logan from Wolverine Really? You are Wolverine´s dad? I know how you mean it but the sentence is great As for myself I'm from Denmark, and I'm 29 years old. I come from a family which is part danish, part german, and since I have relatives on both sides of the border, I learned to speak both languages from an early age. --- ..and of course the regular trips to Germany If you ever visit Berlin, it would be cool to see ya then! My english is too bad. I can write and understand it, but to speak it is difficult. and to shop beer, candy and other wares in Germany You know where the best beer is dude Great stories guys

I am not registered in any other forum, including no german boards. German gamers are very particular about the quality of a video game, and to find fans of old school games is not easy. They buy the newest consoles at it´s release day and want the best games with brilliant graphics I agree with you, this site including it´s forum is one of the few exceptions and a good example for a high quality website with friendly members

I spoke with soera about it recently. We are Skylanders fans and I told him about a german Skylanders fan group. These people (mostly woman) pay €30 BIN for non-rare color variants (figures) and say that´s okay. I can´t believe how they are so hooked on these figures. No patience for bargains at all and everybody has 150-200 figures.. I have an anonymous nickname account without pictures, because I have a handful of friends there. But in real, I hate that site.

Thoughtless people.
