Saturday was awesome, really glad I made the trip and will be looking forward to the next one whenever it may be.
To tell the truth, I felt rather shy upon arrival, but within minutes it was almost as if we we're all hiding behind our avatars and socialising as we do on here! That's the real sign of a good community
Before I jump into my personal thanks, I just wanted to share the nightmare we had after the event.
When me and Stew got to the car park, we attempted to drive out of the multi-storey car park round the corner without paying. Upon approaching the barrier, I realised and had to reverse back. But that wasn't our only problem.
Not a single machine would accept our ticket and allow us to get out. While we began to panic, low behold, Phil appears in his Blue Fiesta with the same problem.
After getting through to the helpline in the car park, we explained there was two of us stuck inside, before being given the instructions to put on our hazard lights at the barrier and we would be let out.
Phil did this first and escaped and we shortly followed, however we weren't so lucky. Somehow the moron forgot we said there were two cars and we were stuck again as Phil headed off.
We eventually got out (free parking) after ringing him again, but damn it was annoying!!

Anyway!
(I'm hoping I get all the names right here!)
Stew, it was a pleasure driving you there and back. The journey was such a quick one as we didn't stop talking! Good times.
Thanks to James for bringing his Gam*Boy along with him, however curses to him too for making me really want one. That control pad puts the Official Sega one to shame and I don't know how I'll be able to cope without one from here on...
Was also great to put faces to the names Bock and Maxim. Having used SMSPower so much during my Master System buying days, I owe them many thanks for the work they've put together. And also for Bock's fantastic sarcastic humour throughout the day
Also was a pleasure meeting Paul and without a doubt worth the trip alone to pick up Digger Chan. Stew had hinted that copies would be available, but I never expected such finesse and attention to detail for just £20. I'll be looking forward to the future releases!
Although it was the first time meeting Phil, I can safely say that I'm looking forward to when me and Stew arrange our local Leeds arcade meet up (which you're all welcome to) at Hollywood Bowl. In short, Phil, you had me laughing all throughout the day and it was a pleasure meeting you.
Huge thanks to Ian for arranging us all and sorting out such a fantastic day. Although we all expected your skills to come out on top, it was great fun and nice playing various games with a second player. You deserve a pat on the back and have my thanks for it all
And finally, it was great coming home with some goodies I didn't expect. Thanks to all the manual generosity allowing me to come closer to the complete collection! And although technically I didn't really win the right to the Zillion light gun, Ian was very kind offering it
Thank you! I'll be taking good care of it and enjoying it. I'm actually off out to get some C batteries now for when I finish work.
Until next time!
