Sorry brian 7'13"52 At first couldn't do under 7'45" in any case and thought it's impossible to beat your time, but accidentally found a quicker route. This run wasn't perfect and had a crash on last stage, which caused me a delay of about 10". I think will be able to do under 7'00" soon... I recorded the whole last stage run as well, which shows my times per stage if anyone's interested.

I did a quick go on this on the emulator and got under 6'44"78. I crashed on stages 7,9, and then twice on 10. Under 6'30" is definitely attainable. I know this is on an emulator so it might not count, but I'll try it out on real hardware soon to see what I can get. Attachments:

Are you sure you didn't use the Japanese version / rom? Also, I wonder if there will be any advantage playing it on a NTSC system due to the 60Hz. I don't have any to try... EDIT: My times

EDIT: My times I'm not sure if there is a difference with the NTSC one or not. I only buy engines, and I buy them whenever I can. You also have to pretty much hit every jump perfectly. If you do, you can get close to or even under 30 seconds on most courses. I luckily did a perfect round with the engine on round 5, which is also hard to do and was able to buy another engine for round 6. I was running a pretty perfect game until round 7 and then it just kind of fell apart. I know that I have ran perfect games on this before, so I'm going to keep trying.

The battle begins! ;D
Would be great more members to participate as well. I really want to see the limits of this game...

Crushed it doing it on the real hardware. 6'03"13. I would have easily got under 6 minutes if I had enough to get the engine on round 9. Attachments:

I spent a couple of hours on this last night. I was determined to get a time under 6 minutes but couldn't pull it off. It's definitely possible but you do need a perfect run. And you also need to get lucky with the amount of cars you pass so you can buy the engine on the later levels.
I finish the first level in the exact same time every time, and sometimes I pass 6 cars and sometimes it's 8! The randomness is a factor.
I think the only time I bothered to finish the game to the end (I resetted after any major mistake) I managed something like 6'20. And that was with a couple of crashes.
The second level is quite tricky, it's tough to maintain top speed. The fourth level can be tricky at first but after some practice it's fairly easy. The fifth level is obviously the hardest, you just have to hope the other bikes don't drive into you!
This is a fun game though and I will definitely have a few more goes. Someone has to make it under 6 minutes!

Someone has to make it under 6 minutes! It is possible. I looked up an Enduro Racer speedrun on youtube and they got about 5'55", but you have to have a pretty much perfect run. Like you say though, it is totally luck. If you can manage to get 8 cars on the first, 8 cars on the second, and 9 on the third, you are off to a good start. Totally random though, which kind of sucks. The second level is actually the easiest one of the bunch. There is a spot that you can get into where you don't have to move at all for the entire level which keeps you at top speed. I am going to attempt to do a recording of a run, but I'm not going to stop until I achieve under 6 minutes. Hopefully others join in on this because it is a fun game that is easy enough to play, but difficult to master.

Tried it a few times following zavias advice to buy only engines and did something like 6'10. I'm also trying to get under 6 minutes, but it's very difficult! Its randomness with passed cars may destroy your flawless run... It seems that buying acceleration when couldn't afford engine, is the main reason for my previous slow runs. Big mistake! I'm afraid we're all going to face Reset button issues soon... ;D

I might be confusing it with Exitebike but dont you slow down a bit if you push down too soon on a jump?

yes. you have to hit it just before the jump. Its almost a reflex at this point, but I remember having trouble with it as a kid
