Hi guys, wondered if it's a good idea to change the feedback thread? I mean like DP (digitpress forums), you make a topic with your nickname and people leave feedback in it. This way it's easier find feedback and more organised IMO. You could also remove the edit button so once feedback is left you can't changed it no more.
Any thoughts on this?

What people are supposed to do on the feedback thread is make only one post and keep updating it. Since there aren't any dodgy traders on here theres no real need for a whole forum section.

I understand, it just looks so chaotic.

I understand, it just looks so chaotic. It does, but it wouldn't if everyone followed the rules PlayGeneration mentioned. :P

Yeah, I haven't been on this site for awhile, but my feedback post is still there, and shows that it was edited a few times with each new person that I dealt with. It does seem that the thread is a bit out of control now haha

All the posts in that thread need to be wiped out and then each member starts one thread and either list who they have dealt with successfully, or others can comment on their dealing with them. Either way, as long as there are 11 pages of posts, no one is going to stick with updating one post because that post may be way back on page 2, and thus almost no one will see it.

My thoughts exactly.

And if every member on the current thread only has ONE post, then it won't be anywhere near 11 pages. A whole forum section with loads of threads full of congratulatory posts is a bit unnecessary.

I dunno, if you visit other forums (like most of us do) and people want references it's easy to link it in the post. Like in my signature, it's very easy to see like this. It was just a thought and i'm happy with whatever will be decided, i just can't help being practical.

on retro1.no we have the same thread, people make a new post for each time theyve delt with someone, then the mods update the first post with how many + or - each user gets, then you only need to see page 1

You can link to individual posts, you know. Find your single post which contains all your feedback, then copy the "link to this post" link at the bottom right of it.

I suppose we could just compile all the individual feedback posts into one for each person if they won't do it themselves.
This forum can't do subcategories, so a 'Good Traders' section would have to be on the main forum page, rather than another sub-section within the 'Wants and Trades'. And since its not that important, I don't think having it on the main page is a good plan.

You can link to individual posts, you know. Find your single post which contains all your feedback, then copy the "link to this post" link at the bottom right of it. that would mean you are writing feedback about yourself instead of others doing it for you. wouldn't it be easier for each member to start a thread called "User D's feedback", and then the rest of the members can add a post to that thread when they transact with them? That way, instead of having one post with all your feedback where you write "I am awesome and traded with A, B, D, R and S 40 times. that's how good I am", other users leave the feedback on your thread, and while you can add "+10" or whatever to your own post, people can see what everyone else had to say; "Items were sexy and packed well, but he took longer than I would have like to ship the games". that kind of set up is something I will eventually push for at 16bit ;)
