Well I've been given the honour of kicking off the all new game club. I believe my pick will be played and discussed for the month of January 2017. I'm going with a game we haven't previously covered, and it's also a game I used to own growing up and still play and love it to this day. That game is... Asterix and the Secret Mission  It's an excellent platformer game with various improvements over the original game (which also a great game). It's got nice variety of moves, power-ups and levels. The Asterix surfing level in particular is a highlight as it's great fun and technically impressive. If you haven't already played this one, make sure you do. I think the difficulty curve is good, as there's a bit of challange and not too much frustration. Hope you enjoy. Get gaming! |

A great choice and a game i have yet to play. Would you believe out of over 150 games you choose one I dont have lol!
Ill buy it this week as I need it for my collection anyway. The graphics look amazing for an SMS title. This is a game I would def of bought if i had seen it back in the day.
Cant wait to get cracking on it 👍

I'll have to go this one a go. I've played the first one and great rescue. I shouldn't have a excuse really since I have 2 versions of this game sitting on my shelf.

On first impressions, I must say I prefer the first Asterix. But I have the bias of couple decades of experience and nostalgia with that...

Hey, great to see Game Club back! All my games are tied in boxes but I definitely want to have a go on this - anyone know where I can find a scan of the manual?
Also, should I be playing this at 50Hz or 60hz?

It certainly looks like a decent game that I'll enjoy, both the asterix games have been on my radar for a while now and this gives me a little extra push to add them to my collection. Back in the day I never even knew there was a second asterix game on the SMS. I never owned the original either, but a kid up the road had a copy so I got to play a bit on that one. Am guessing I may have to bend my spending limit a little to grab this but am hopeful I'll love it and look forward to reporting back soon(ish) with an update. |

Would you believe out of over 150 games you choose one I dont have lol! My thoughts exactly! nearbythiscafe I cant say that I would agree with this though. Definitely not a game I would have bought as a kid. But in the spirit of trying new things (and taking part in the game club) I bought one off feebay last night. I decided to get the Classics version as I do not any classics covers yet. Once it arrives I'll give it a try. Maybe my preconceived notions about the game will be wrong and I'll love it. Who knows? |

First impressions after about 30 mins in. Fun game indeed, the punching was initially a bit fiddly but got used to it. The graphics are fantastic, really impresive, music is terrible LOL. There's a sounds sample I recongise from something else, Lucky Dime Caper maybe.
Quick question - what's the purpose of the yellow potion?
