The black and white manuals were printed by Ariolasoft who were the distributors for Sega in Germany. These manuals were printed to accompany the original manual which would have been in English only as they were imported from Sega of America (Overstock).

Yes, the US Gold variants are well known and documented. there are a few others for you to discover such as Outrun Europa and Super Kick Off.

Captain Silver was released without a barcode (Which wasn't an issue as most stores used old fashioned manual tills at the time) but for those larger stores who had up to date electronic barcode scanners a barcode sticker was produced and stuck to the back of the inlay cover (Many other early games can be found with / without barcodes).

A friend of mine used to work in packaging and would generate barcodes for their products, he recently tried to read the SMSII Sonic 2 barcode but it would not scan meaning that these would have been meant for display / advertising purposes only. It makes sense that more SMSII Sonic 2's show up as this game would have been heavily promoted in comparison to Tazmania, Home Alone and Batman Returns.

Yeah, it's known about but like the Home Alone SMSII version, no-one has ever come across one.

Thanks to rastanfarian for letting me know about this thread. I ended up with these through ebay a few years back and didn't know the seller posted on here first. I got them on a bin for £70 so the seller obviously revised his price!

The last one to sell went to a member of this very forum via ebay for a price of just under £300 all in. You might get more, you might get less but as long as you let the right people know it's for sale (Posting a link to the auction on here would be a good idea) you should achieve a good price. It would also be a good idea to get verification of its authenticity (There are fakes about) by posting lots of pics on here so that we can ask questions and compare it to a known and verified copy.

This has come around quick! I just want to make sure we have enough TVs this time. We'd need at least 3 but ideally 4 if there's going to be 8 of us. I'm going to try bring one along but can I confirm who else is definitely bringing TVs? Just successfully tested mine so I'm still good to bring a tv, sms and everdrive.

There's loads of long stay, multi storey carparks nearby (within 5 - 10 minutes walk) so I'm just gonna follow the sat nav to the venue and follow the signs for parking like I did last year.

I have one of these adapters and have noticed that the power light flickers after I've pressed the start button to play the game. It doesn't happen when playing markiii games, anyone else noticed this?

Plus 1 for both Sonic and Castle of Illusion being better on the SMS compared with the Megadrive versions. I always thought that Super Kick Off was better on the SMS too as I found the controls to be a bit difficult for the Megadrive.
