Hi all - I thought I'd share my latest Korean find I found these bundled together IN THE WILD at a used electronics market in Seoul. An unboxed Samsung Gam*boy which I think is in great condition. (Most Korean ones seem to be in pretty poor condition) with one "blue" controller, a 3rd party control stick, Three Japanese Mark III games (Alex Kidd in MW, Fantasy Zone, and what I think is World Grand Prix. All complete and in fine condition). I also found a complete Korean copy of "Maze Walker" (Maze Hunter 3D). And finally a Korean compilation cart "Best 88" (88 Games in one cart.. including Ghost house and others). The Korean writing on the case says "Super Game 88", but on the top of the cart it says "Best 88". Pretty Happy overall! p.s.. Am I being slow? Maybe I have just missed this feature on some consoles, but the reset button on the console is replaced with a rapid fire button. Is this common? Maybe I just haven't noticed it before. Cheers! - Sam Attachments:

Maybe I just haven't noticed it before. The Japanese Master System has the rapid fire built in which replaces the reset switch. So I guess the Korean console is based on that, but lacks the built in FM music (I think?)

Hi Playgen, I'm pretty sure this system is FM... It had a label on the bakc of the power base saying so... I can confirm later and take a pic

There's two variants of the Korean SMS with and without FM.

So apparently the copies of Alex Kidd in MW and Fantasy Zone are not Japanese, but Taiwanese. Didn't even notice! Thanks Bock for bringing this to my attention. Aaronix were a distributor of Sega Master System stuff in Taiwan. Shows how much of a Philistine I am when it comes to Asian SMS stuff. Haha

Wow, I was just reading myself through the whole thread and I am impressed by all those sweet pictures and collections! I wrote many interesting things down after reading Playgen´s useful informations Does one of our korean members know how much a loose Gam*Boy system (with all cables and controllers) goes for in Korea nowadays? If they don´t go for hundreds of dollars, I should think about getting one of them (in the future) because there are many unknown or new games for Master System fans who live in the States or Europe. The Gam*Boy seems to be a good option for Sega fans to expand their game collections. What are the names of the two games right from that Sonic 2/CoI/Tom & Jerry pirate please? They have nice artworks.

I agree Korean games are a very cool and interesting little area of master system collecting. Though it's expensive and according to a guy I know over there (from whom I picked up the Korean Tetris i posted earlier in the year) they're getting pretty hard to come by over there. Happy to post more detailed pics of these if anyones interested. I've picked up a few more since this photo too - up to 15 now I think.

Nice, there are many multi game carts in Korea I was sure it should be hard to find stuff, even in Korea, but maybe somebody helps me when I start trying to get some games and a console. Please post some pictures of your new games, I´m always interested how they look

Does one of our korean members know how much a loose Gam*Boy system (with all cables and controllers) goes for in Korea nowadays? . I havent been looking for korean master system stuff in korea for a long time, but all the gamboy I systems that i sold (loose; with cables and controllers) went for about 100€ on ebay. The gamboy II system and the green aladdin boy went for about 120-130€. However that was 4-5 years ago, i wonder if they are worth more today...

That´s why I´m hoping for help from Korea^^ To buy such a system on Ebay could be very expensive, or at least more expensive than getting it from a korean helper, who could find one (with luck of course) in a local store in Seoul maybe.

Thanks I´m new to the whole Gam*boy thing and it´s tempting to find and play those games, which are mostly ´unknown´ to me. But for the rest of 2014, my main goal is to get a PAL Power Strike II^^
