I uploaded the file here: www.2shared.com/file/BRdg4d59/MasterSystemValue.htmlShould be easiest. If you could make a separate column for your list, that would be great. Either you make your own list without looking at mine first to be unbiased or you just adapt mine. Both are just fine. I don't have windows office. You could post it in the auction thread, your list.

Given the sway and value put on these more formal lists, if it is to be done then it has to be done properly - you cannot do something like this based on people's opinions and claim it is accurate - it must be done scientifically otherwise it is worthless.
Now that there are local eBay sites in other countries, then these would have to be included too.

As i don't have the technical expertises to do it scientifically. But seen as no one else seemed bothered to raise this important issue. I thought sod it, i will lol

I cant contribute but I am interested in seeing the result. I think value and rarity should not be linked too much though.

Well it seems in a very short period of time we have come to a common consensus of opinion. Now i guess we leave up to those who can contribute, to organise this project.
This thread has been very constructive. Well done chaps ;D

I was able to download the list on my iPad. I am not going to look at your valuations, but, go off data I've collected for around 9 months. I live in the USA, so I am sure there will be some significant differences.
I "accidentally" began to collect data off of eBay and other flea markets as I have been working hard to complete my collection by getting the best price.

Oh, yeah. I'd love to get the USA ratings/values as well, but some EU people would be nice as well. Sorry for the thread high jack as I know that value and rarity aren't necessarily related, but it's still in the same category.
For those that care about numbers, a complete collection of unique PAL European titles would now be worth around 3000 Euro or Pound according to my estimations counting all 278 games.

I went through the list putting my own values to each item and came up with a similar total. I think mine came in approximately €100 less, but it was still up around €3000. Of course this isn't very scientific, but I'd say that’s in or around what you would need to put together a complete set (if not more the way things are going). Rarity and value are very different things though and I think the existing rarity ratings are fairly accurate.

It isn't very scientific but since the answer to the question "how much would you spend for a full pal set nowadays" I had been asked a couple of weeks ago was "definitely not more than 3000 euros", it seems a pretty accurate estimation (three different people from three different country thinking almost the same always mean there's some truth beneath it )

Just had a look through your price estimates and i have to say that for current market value they seem more or less spot on to me

Thanks guys! I'll probably redo the list somewhere next year and have a comparison to see how things evolve. In 2005, here in Belgium, a well known collector sold off his near complete set for 800 Euro. Damn I wish I was around back then...

A few years back Gamestation stores were selling most SMS games for £1.99 buy one get one free. I would say perhaps 150 to 200 of my games were from Gamestation (perhaps replaced quite a few with upgrades from ebay bundles since). I was lucky that I live between liverpool and Manchester with towns like Wigan, Leigh, Bolton, Bury, St.Helens and Warrington all close by (thats about 9 or 10 Gamestations within easy reach). Some of the best bargains I got from there were James Buster Douglous Boxing, most of the Cassics and Kixx, Dragon The Bruce Lee Story, Buggy Run (x2), Championship Hockey and US Power Strike. Times are defo tougher for collectors now My core PAL set would have cost me well under £1000 from memory, if I take into account re-sales from bundles where I only needed one etc. The thing is though I really enjoyed collecting them and that was worth the time and money and not just the end material items. I don't understand why someone would want to buy a full set in one go, where is the fun of collecting

As i mentioned previously the file won't work on my computer. Thanks

JBD Boxing I got from Leigh Gamestation and the funny thing was I had already been in a few days before when they didnt have it and nearly didnt bother going in to check again!
