My all time favourite film is Ghostbusters (glad it got a mention). I own about 12 different copies of it on VHS and DVD. Not to be rude, but what's the point of having that many copies? I can understand one VHS, a DVD, and maybe a special edition and box set of the series since you're a die-hard, but... 12??

A couple of reasons. 1) When I really like something, I tend to get as many copies as possible in case the unthinkable happens. 2) There are a number of different variants; especially on VHS: Original home rental release (1985) Original home video release (1987) Limited edition GB 1&2 double feature (1990) Ghostbusters Special Edition (1999), VHS & DVD Columbia Tri-Star GB 1&2 double feature (2003) Sony GB 1&2 DVD set (2005)
