I'd certainly agree with almost everything mentioned so far but here's a few of my (maybe a little weird) all time faves!
What About Bob? Braindead (Dead Alive) Munchies (terrible movie but I loved it as a kid and still do) Night of the Demons Demons Demons 2 Step Brothers Crybaby Evil Dead 2 Monsters Inc Psycho
There's a HEAP already mentioned that would make my top list too!

1. Blood In Blood Out (1993) 2. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 3. Amores Perros (2000) 4. Life of Brian (1979) 5. Mystery Train (1989)
I thought "Blood In Blood Out" would have more fans... Nobody...?

I found playgenerations remark funny, because I love movies too but I end up watching to few seeing as I spend way to much time on TV-Shows, Internet & Gaming. I find myself in the same boat. Movies tend to get edged out in favour of TV, Internet & Gaming. I actually enjoy quite a few movies, but, except for some of the obvious picks I already mentioned, I tend not to be able to pick my favourites. I think I also tend to like movies starring Tom Hanks, e.g. BIG, Cast Away, Forest Gump, etc. As a side note, what do people think of re-releasing older movies back into the cinema? I went to see Back to the Future last year when it was re-released and it was easily the best cinema experience I’ve had in a very long time.

I went to go see the Back to the Future re-release too, and despite having seen the film a million times already, it was still the best cinema experience I've ever had. How amazing must it have been to see that back when it came out. I think it would be awesome if cinemas would show a different classic movie every month or so. I'm also a big fan of Tom Hanks movies. You could add The Green Mile and Philadelphia to other films you mentioned.

Yeah, it would have been great to see movies like Back to the Future when they were first released into the cinema. The funny this is that I wasn’t even going to go to the re-release until my girlfriend convinced me to go. I thought it wouldn’t be worth it as I have seen the movie so often, but I would definitely go to BTTF2 and 3 if they were re-released now. I believe Cineworld do actually show classic movies every so often, but the time they’re on never seems to work out for me.

Yes, I agree it's great to re-release old classic in the cinema as it's the best experience possible.
But it doesn't seem like there is an interest locally for anything like that here unfortunately.
The only movie i've seen in the cinema post-release was Schindlers List and that's because the school in 8-9th grade decided to rent the local cinema to show it to us.

Each summer they show a heap of older movies each weekend at the Hollywood cemetary. www.cinespia.org/calendar/Seeing The Shining on the big screen (or the mausoleum wall) was so much fun! I'd add The Shining to my top list of movies too - how'd I forget that one!

My top 5 are a little eclectic...
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Batman: The Dark Knight Inception Disney's Beauty and the Beast Disney's Aladdin.
Yeah, it's a little weird. I love classic Disney, though. Come to think of it, 60% of my favorites are Disney. Go figure.
Has anyone seen Cowboys and Aliens yet? I saw it yesterday and it was VERY good. The only reason why I saw it was out of curiosity, "How are they supposed to put Cowboys and Aliens together??" but hey, it worked!

True Romance (1991) with Christian Slater. This is a great movie and I find most people have never seen it. Quentin Tarrantino so I have seen it, but didn't think it was that great. Good movie, but would rank it too high.

Bingo! I'm still trying to make my gf to watch it... I watched Once Upon a Time in the West again last week, I'd managed to forget how the story went, so it wasn't like watching a film I'd seen so often that I know every little detail coming up (like T2). Its such a quality film, I'd also forgotten about the scene where the town is introduced by the camera moving over the roof of a station building - as seen replicated in Back to the Future III which made me smile. As to your GF not wanting to watch it, I think it's a western girls could appreciate over others if they watch it because of the strong female lead character. I suppose the pace of the film could be seen as too slow and boring, and without the beautiful soundtrack it probably would be.

Good movie, but would rank it too high. That's not really in any order I just named them as I could think of them. EDIT: I forgot the Dark Crystal that one would be really high on my list too.
