Hi, I've done TONS of research about this topic and I've only found that this list of games sometimes have big problems on NTSC systems not emulators(severe glitches or in some cases won't play at all).I know most games are going to have at least very minimal glitches. Theres no lockout from what I understand but from my experience Taito Chase H.Q. (bottom of screen) and Predator 2 is glitchy as hell on both of my model 1 NTSCs. Heres the list..
Addams Family, The Back to the Future Part III Battlemaniacs Bram Stoker's Dracula (very minor glitching from my experience) California Games II Cosmic Spacehead Excellent Dizzy Collection, The Fantastic Dizzy Home Alone Micro Machines Operation Wolf Predator 2 Quest for the Shaven Yak RoboCop 3 Shadow Dancer - The Secret of Shinobi (very minor glitching from my experience) Shadow of the Beast Sonic Blast Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (very minor glitching from my experience) Space Harrier (some versions) Taito Chase H.Q. Sensible Soccer Xenon 2 Desert Srike
Do any of you Sega Master gurus have a complete list, any info or any more games to add from your knowledge or experience? If so it would be GREATLY appreciated. Also, Do PAL systems have any glith problems with NTSC games? Do Domark games have compatibility issue on NTSC systems(Super Space Invaders for instance)? Thanks guys.

The Codemasters games (Micro Machines, Fantastic Dizzy and Cosmic Spacehead) will not even get past the title screen on the Power Base Converter or SMS 1's, but they play perfectly on an SMS II.
There is some visual glitching during the scrolling of Predator 2, but it's not totally distracting.
Those are the only two examples that really stand out for me.

This is in both games and hardware forums? I replied to the other thread. Aren't some of the Tectoy games glitchy on any system? I heard Battlemaniacs is only 95% complete and full of glitches.

Yeah, I decided to post here as well since more traffic. Plus I'm really interested in an official list of all PAL and Tectoy games that are finnicky w/ ntsc systems from experiences.Out of all the games I own (around 115 different) only 2 have serious problems. Taito Chase H.Q. and Predator 2. Not sure about Tectoys and Domarks.

Those two models with the later VDP will play everything that the SMSII does.

Also Xenon 2. Unplayable on console but ok with powerbase converter. Never had a problem with Shadow of the Beast.

Tectoy games are a different PAL standard that's closer to NTSC, though. From what I read, it sounds like most of the problems with them aren't related to PAL/NTSC differences.

I thought Xenon 2 was just ALL around full of glitches no matter what model you play on. i've never had probs w/ Shadow of the beast either but according to the research I've done some have reported it as glitchy on their ntscs. X2 Added to the list..Thanks chuckltd.

this is a strange research topic man.... LOL!! Probably so, but Im really interested in what games do not play correctly on NTSCs because Im in the U.S. and own 2 model 1 ntscs and would like to officially know what games I can or cannot play on my systems without problems. I'm sure this info could possibly come in handy to future Master System fans in the US w/ ntscs as well. Eventually I will get a Model II but for now its not feasable at the time.

James Bond is also unplayable on my ntsc SMS (1.3) Except for Mr. Bond the whole screen is a mess and you can`t see where to jump.
