He seems to have an impressive collection. We emailed each other a few times, but I never inquired about the game. He says he is familiar with the site and the forum but is not a member. Curious if this thing is real....
Edit: Picture is not very clear and obviously transposed. I'm not very good with computers, LOL! (Maybe part of the reason I am stuck in the age of 8bit gaming) Having trouble linking all the info. Try googling Columns silver Sega Master System and you should be able to find the instagram link. Or #sega8bit medias also @jc4sega He claims to have picked it up at a garage sale or something or the sort. I find it real hard to believe that it is real, especially if no one here has one or has seen it.

First time I see it but why not ? We found a couple of totally unknown double packs for both the megadrive and the master system the last two years.

It's not impossible, but I'd definitely want to see much clearer photographs before I was convinced. Maybe ddevilfingers or @tycho can shed some light on it?

Yeah I know about the double packs, I posted the links for them here or Pm'd ddevilfingers directly myself. Well the info is out there now...I have to say if it is real, I want first crack at obtaining it. Most of you guys already have some incredible rare items, hopefully once I can make someone else green with envy!
Nevertheless I find it unlikely to be real, I guess I'm just a pessimist at heart.

Um I've never seen one and had around a few thousand Sega games from Australia come through my hands... Maybe, maybe not. It'll be easy-ish to remove a label off a game and stick it on another, and put the insert in a silver box. If it exists its incredibly rare Tycho gets the problem here. There is really no way to tell if this is legitimate or not because you'd have to verify it with another one. It would be beyond easy to swap cases and carts. The only way to tell if it's legit is if the cart or box plastic has some sort of factory marker for this particular game. I feel like this is something that would have come up already, it's not like a prototype or the NTSC blue reissues. The latter, for example, were just not well known, but they were clearly out there and easy to spot once I did it. This, however, I'm on the side of doubt currently.

I was thinking it could be a box swap too.

Plus in theory the cart could be spray painted, would have to be done by someone who was suitably skilled to do a decent job but if someone did precise spray painting for their job......

Are there no other pics of this as the image is poor quality?

Nah pretty clear the plastic is the silver kind, you can see it in the molding texture of it. But the problem still stands, it would be VERY easy to swap.

I still wait to see clearer photos, however I think it's just a silver box swap. The cartridge doesn't look to be silver, but a normal Ozisoft release which isn't totally black as the European: If it was silver, I would expect to be more bright than box edges as it's a big flat surface and should reflect more light. Anyway, this is just my thought. No, I don't work in CSI...

Hmmm, I know of this guy from Instagram and have no reason to believe he's not trustworthy.
Has anyone here asked him for some more detailed pictures yet? If so what did he say?

I also have no reason to believe he's not trustworthy. I'm just thinking he confused the game as silver due to the silver box. He's not saying anywhere that cartridge is silver.
I don't have Instagram account, so could somebody please ask him for clearer photos?

Yes I too have no reason to believe he is not trustworthy. As I said in the original post we have exchanged a few emails through eBay. My understanding is he may be selling off his entire collection. I encouraged him to sign up here as a member and that he may have better luck selling his stuff individually or in smaller bundles as opposed to a giant collection at an ungodly figure. LOL. I also do not have an Instagram account or any other form of social media. This forum is as close to being "social" as I ever plan to be. Seeing as rupert and ddevilfingers have had some interaction with him outside of eBay, I would encourage either one to try and inquire further. If not I will eventually. As stated before, I'm quite the pessimist, and find it hard to believe that there has never been another copy surface to verify it's existence.

I sent a message via instagram yesterday but have not heard back.
If you've been dealing with him via ebay Rastanfarian perhaps you could enquire further?
I'm hopeful but I'm pretty far from convinced that we have a new silver game here.
