Been suffering from connection issues all day. Keep getting a picture of a blue bear slashing a server and a message:

Wasn't the price of RAM dropping at the time as well, making stuff like carts cheaper?

That's the exact same Master System I had as a kid (parents got it from UK Toys R Us). It had no stickers on the box to say what the inbuilt game was. it was Hang On. I remember the box clearly as it was sat on a shelf above a cupboard for 4 years I used to stare at it for hours wishing I was sat up playing it!

Assuming you can get the capacitors on ebay? Just do it and if it dies get another.

Very happy at that, quite impressive. They are still taking pledges after as well with Paypal so people will still be able to help out.

Easiest answer to holding the discs all the time is just get a double sided player. Also saves you having to get up part way through a film.
Laser rot is a funny one I've found the best way to avoid it is just ask the ebay seller how it plays. If they say its patchy then avoid.

I've had that happen with retro consoles in the past. I bought an Atari ST computer and the seller just stuck a label to its box then covered it in tape, was furious! Ruined it completely.

I've been on a laserdisc kick since pickup up a player recently. Just had this little lot arrive through my door, £20 all in plus a few quid postage!

I would always stare at the artwork and screenshots then hope for the best. £30 back then was a lifetime of saving for me so was always hit n miss. Luckily one time I spent well and chose Wonderboy 3: Dragon's Trap. Had no idea what it was about but looked awesome and turned out to be one of the systems best games! Another time I completely made the mistake of picking The Ninja. I can still remember sitting there week after week and not being able to get past that first level!
