24 years after it´s planned release, Cinemaware will release that game for the Mega Drive with the help of WaterMelon as their publishers! desert.cinemaware.comSome facts I´ve put together for you: - Developer is still Cinemaware, publisher is WaterMelon - The first edition comes with clamshell case, region free cartridge, manual and poster - A possible reprint edition will come without manual and poster! - Artwork is oriented to the 80´s trash movies (it will be edited later for better quality) - Release should be at the end of 2014 (at the holiday season) - Price will be around 55 US$ - A very important developer who was supposed to own the source code jumped off the project, so the rest of the team has no source code anymore and tries to add some sequences and is looking for another helpers/programmers. Improvements and updates are possible, but not as big as it was planned before - So no Extended Cut

So the ROM was released ages ago and this is unlikely to add much more to it? There's a longplay on youtube and, frankly, it doesn't look particularly interesting.
Still, nice that people are looking to put previously abandoned stuff out there through more official channels than a ROM leak. I'm sure the collector market will go nuts for it and it probably gives Watermelon a discount on the carts they were already planning to product. Although I really wish they'd give proper updates - there's been nothing on the Pier Solar HD release or MD reprints and Project Y info is scare unless you're already pumping money into it.

Playgen released it years ago, I have a copy already ;D Stew, Cinemaware will add more graphics and sequences to the ´official´ release. But how much they will change to the game is doubtful at the moment. What Playgen created was a cartmodd from the known beta version (looks sweet by the way) Although I really wish they'd give proper updates - there's been nothing on the Pier Solar HD release or MD reprints and Project Y info is scare unless you're already pumping money into it. The problem is Fonzie´s eccentric characteristic, even Tulio has problems with it. For It Came From The Desert, just subscribe the newsletter on the game´s website When I get the game, I create another report about it on my site in german, and maybe I do an english translation again, which is probably a good idea this time.

Let´s bring this thread back to topic!
There are some updates:
- The game WILL be an Extended Cut! Cinemaware was able to find a programmer who is willing to help - Other logos will be added - The game gets an intro sequence with pictures, which explains the prehistory - New music during the sequences and a better menu - The price will be definitely 55,00 US$ - There is a chance for bugfixes and better gameplay, so let´s hope it works out with the programmer - We will see it in around 2 months - Cinemaware tries to work together with local german video game shops to sell the game local, if that works out.. awesome - Now, as they really change some things in the game, the release is earmarked for the 1st quarter of 2015 - Pre-order starts soon
Sounds great guys, this will be awesome!
