Sorry if this is an obvious question but I was comparing 2 copies of Operation Wolf today and noticed that there were a few differences between the 2 copies. I first noticed that one of the instructions were a much darker colour than the other and when I opened the first page one had a partial sketch of a SMS 1 and the other has a full sketch of an SMS 1 and the SMS II aswell as many other differences between the 2 instruction manuals the one of the carts is a much darker almost brown colour and the other is a much lighter and almost red colour (This is not due to fading) The boxes also have differences for instance one has 6 language translations and the other has 8! I also noticed that one box says on the box that the date of manufacture is 1990 and the other says 1991. The other difference is that one has an R inside a circle near the SEGA logo and the other one doesn't (I have spotted the same thing with 2 copies of Rescue Mission but one having an R inside a circle near the SEGA logo and one not was the only difference) I have come accross references to this R thing before but have never really paid much attention to it, anyway any help in answering this question would be greatly apreciated Attachments:

I think I missed the question you wanted to ask about this. These variations are well known and I stopped collecting them myself since it was getting a bit out of hand. I might go back into collecting them once I get more space and money.
THere are a few collectors here who have a lot of different variations and I think for some games, there are even 5 different minor insert variations. R logo, now there are no limits, different number of languages,...
