Hi all,

In case any of you miss it on the site's front page, I thought I'd let you know that I've created a game guide for Shadow of the Beast. If there was ever a game that needed a guide, it's this one!

Thanks. I always wanted to know what those items did. I knew the two potions damaged one in someway but never knew that one made one take double damage. I also have no idea what the "surprised" potion does or the Green Orb. I wish they were in the instruction booklet.

The dark red potion eventually wears off and the controls go back to normal. It's a pity the Evil Magic Wand doesn't though. Even after a life is lost, it's still dark and the whole game is ruined.

This game does require a lot of trial and error, there's absolutely no way someone could complete it first time of playing (without a guide).

Do you happen to have the instruction booklet for this game? Would you be able to scan it?

I do have it, unfortunately it's 150 miles away at my parents' house! Sorry. From what I remember of it, it has four pages repeated in about nine languages. It explains the mission and the controls and that's it. It has no information that you don't have apart from the background story. I believe the story is about a boy who gets kidnapped and his parents are killed a la Conan the Barbarian. He's forced to work for the "Beast Lord" and is turned into a beast as a result. He eventually regains his childhood memories and vows revenge. My signature is from the back of the box. Good quote.

It's a great little game and took me AGES to complete. I used to lose it in the damned castle. The trouble is one only gets one attempt at the castle boss because there's only one high jump potion. I actually used to do the second from last boss and last boss without the invincibility potions because I always used to use them earlier on in the game.

Someone on here must have an instruction manual to scan for you.

Nice work on the guides ian. From what I've seen of them they look brilliant. I'll have a proper look at them after I've finished the games .
