We do have one actually. I was thinking this is likely what we're going to do when we've exhausted the Game Club. But, if you currently look at the main site and go to the contests page, you'll see the ongoing high-score contest in there. But I agree, this is something that would be good. We've talked about it before, but I was saving it until we felt the Game Club was exhausted.

Sounds great to me. Why not open a sub forum inside the GOTW section? People can just start threads of which game they are playing and post their high scores (with photographic evidence), one thread per game. Maybe have a sticky thread for the current GOTW? I've pretty much stopped collecting for SMS now, so I'm spending a lot more time playing the games. A challenge or 2 would be good .

I second what Ninjabearhug says. We have a "high scores" sub-forum on another forum I frequent and it works great.
We've long been talking about a high-scores competition for various games and this would be the perfect way to get us going.
Do it! :)

I don't think I ever bothered entering the third high score comp, not a big fan of Enduro Racer, but I enjoyed the other 2 comps, even if I did do miserably ;D. I think a sub-forum for high scores would get more people competing in the high score comps. You could sticky the current competition game so that people noticed it. I don't know about everyone else but I very rarely look at the site itself nowadays (apart from the rare items gallery ), I just come directly to the forum so I often miss competition changes and stuff. Anyway, you need to create a high score section so that Aypok and me can have a Power Strike 2 shoot out .

Being the Current Champion I would love to kick all your asses apart from Ian who should be banned from any future competitions ;D

Hmmm, I suppose we could then, and perhaps hold periodic contests that we can post on the main page there. So you want this WITHIN the Game Club forum, or one of its own?

If you have it within the Gameclub you could have the high score competition for the currently chosen game. Maybe Bart Vs The World wouldn't be my 1st choice, but Stan if you let me choose a game next then it might be a lot more exciting

I might even dig Bart vs the World out now and see what kind of a score I can get. I don't mind playing games that are a bit crap if It's a bit competitive . I'm playing LDC at the moment and as of yet haven't managed anywhere near a high score, It'd be nice to be able to check what sort of a score other people were achieving so I could see how bad I really was ;D What game do you have in mind Phil?

Okay, I'll make it a sticky thread in there. Not sure if it's possible to actually make a subforum, just has to be a thread.

Just a suggestion are we gonna do a points system, 10 for 1st, 7 for 2nd etc and then at the end of a year (say 12 games) if we do 1 a month the winner with the most points wins a prize?!
Maybe everyone who wants to participate send a dollar or a pound as an entry fee then the winner gets the total in the pot. Most people have paypal so we could do it that way....
Or we could do it for fun for now and see if the interest is there first... Just to make it more interesting a cash incentive ;D

It would be great to get something like this going again. I tried running a High Score contest before via the website and email but it died out it pretty quick. If it runs on the board though it will no doubt get a lot more attention.
And nice try Phil, but you're going down!
