Does anyone know of a guide online on how to mod an SMS with an S-Video connection and RCA audio outputs? Or is anyone willing to divulge in how it's done? This is something I have been thinking about doing to a spare SMS and spare Genesis consoles I have lying around. Problem is, I know mothing about electronics and have never soldered before. But I am willing to risk a spare system to learn how it is done. I just need to find a very detailed guide on how to do it. Any suggestions?

Yeah, but that option is expensive. I want to be able to do it cheaply.

If I ask him, then he is helping me not make him a bit of money by having him do it for me. Though with overseas shipping, I would get it done on this continent...

He's a helpful guy.
I don't think he's here to make money, he just does it for people who feel they can't do it themselves.
He'll show you i'm sure! ;D

You can pull composite and audio from the RGB video connector. I've not done Svideo but I think you may have to wire that up to the video chip directly to get the Chrominance/Luminance.

See, that all sounds like Chinese to me. That's why I need a dummy-proof step-by-step on which prongs on the chip that spits out video the resistors or capacitors have to connect to, and all that. I found a page saying which prong thingies need to be soldered to for the chroma and luma, but it doesnt say much after that. All the explanations seem to be geared to people who know about circuitry and soldering and electronics.

Yeah, but that option is expensive. I want to be able to do it cheaply. Yes, but you can use it with many other systems. Before I put my classic crap away, I used it with my Saturn, Genesis, and SMS and worked awesome. Plus I could easily hook all of my systems up to my stereo reciever that way. Too bad I had to put the systems in storage, because I got some new Sony speakers that rock my world.

I'd rather go the cheap route and do S-Video and Stereo RCA connectors in the back (except for the SMS; they'd be mono). I'd still be able to hook them up to my stereo and such. I just to find a step-by-step guide and I'll be good to go. I'm not worried about messing up since I have 2 spare Genesis 1 systems and 2 spare Model 2's
