A week ago when I was shopping in the next city over and I found a Sega Master system for sale for 50 bucks, I immeadiatly bought it seeing is how I have been looking for one for 3 years. I did not have money on me at the time so I had to trade in my Sega genesis along with my sonic the hedghog collection, the problem is the only copies of STH SMS on ebay are PAL and I live in Canada. Do PAL games work on an american system? or am I out of luck? Also my power adapter is really sensitive when I plug it in to the wall, I have to wiggle it constantly to get my system to turn on, is it my systems fault or the power adapter? If anyone could help I would really appriciate it! O yeah check out my system and games! sonicteam10.googlepages.com/sms

PAL games work just fine here. There is basically no difference between carts released in North America and Europe as far as I know. SMS systems here will play games from Europe and elsewhere with no problems (there are the tiny handful of games that don't work, but I think there are only 3 or 4). Where do you wiggle the adapter? At the wall, or at the console? At the wall means the adapter is at fault, and at the consle means it could be the adapter, or the plug on the console is loose. You can always check eBay for a new adapter. Some of the mega geeks and dweebs on here know more about the technical stuff than I do (since I am not a dweeb or geek ). Some of the nerds might even be able to tell you how to solder a new connector onto your console in great detail .

Thanks alot for you're help! and yes I do wiggle the adapter at the wall, I took a closer look at the adapter and the pins are worn terribly so I guess a quick trip to ebay will solve that.
;D

Also I forgot to ask, is my collection, Rare? first off.. you should register here, there is an introductions topic at the top of the forum where you can tell us about your collecting history etc. As for your SMS and stuff, you don't have anything 'rare' but Psycho Fox and Penguin Land are both great games to have I have a US power adaptor I could send you for the price of postage, but its untested plus at some point it has been cut and lengthend so there is alot of insulation tape around the middle of the wire.. BUT they are heavy and Royal Mail website says it will be about $13 for post. Maybe sombody else here from the US has a spare??

Theres only a handful of games that have issues on NTSC:
James Bond, Xenon 2, Operation Wolf, New Zealand Story, Back to the Future 2.
And you lose a bit of the screen with the three released codemasters games - Micromachines, Dizzy and Cosmic Spacehead.

Do you still have a Genesis? The adapter from a model 1 genesis will run an SMS just fine

So the genesis model 1 adapter is the same? Awsome! I'm gonna order one tonight! It's not 100% the same - but it's very close. You can use the Mega Drive/Genesis MkI PSU to power an SMS (as you were describing - that works fine) - but an SMS PSU will not properly power a Mega Drive/Genesis MkI (I think the SMS PSU doesn't give it enough power). It gives very odd graphical glitches - if it even works.

I just bought a SMS specific adapter so I'm set! I also bought 3 games!
Sonic Chaos, super tennis, and fantasy zone! (all come with the boxes) And if anyone has any SMS cases to spare, give me a PM I need 3!
Also Aypok, is you're DP the logo for "the scooby doo project"?
