I posted on the site discussion forum that I will try and make 50/60hz tutorials for SMS 1 and 2.
Perhaps I will do an SMS 2 RGB tutorial too.
What I would like to know is there any other cool mods you guys out there in SMS-land would like to see tutorials etc on? and what are they?
;D

Ok so that one wasnt challenging enough for you, how about this: A hard drive built into the console which you load the games from. Or perhaps a cd drive or floppy disk drive, or perhaps all three!.

Yeah, that would be a good idea, just make a bunch of links. I'll need to contact the original authors.

Just being careful, also in case we would decide to make them look like articles that are more akin to the rest on the site in design.

Yeah, but SMSPower has everything! Let's make our own mods, for once! Come on, think outside of the box...
Hmm...I got it! A hamster-wheel powered SMS console!
Nah, that's not so good...I have a few ideas...Behold!
1. How to make your SMS have headphones! 2. Adding A/V Out to the SMS! 3. Changing the color of the light on the SMS!

Headphones eh? I wonder if it would be possible to shawt something up using the same idea as the NES "Game Sounds" thing. Might be pretty easy, just open it up, see how it works and mess with it.

3. Changing the color of the light on the SMS!
That one really is easy, i had to do it the other day when i accidentally managed to snap the light off a mk1 console. I just grabbed an old LED from a pc case, and soldered the two wires to the two points on the board where the old one used to live. And now i have a yellow light on the console, the fact that the semi-transparent bit of plastic it shines through is green makes no difference when the light is on.

Dont forget u have to get the polarity right or it will kill your LED

Dont worry about putting the LED the wrong way round, you wont kill it. Just make sure you do have it orientated properly, or it wont light up. The two sides to a diode are the 'anode' (+) and the 'cathode' (-), the anode of the LED is the side with the longer lead. The best way to do it though, have a look at the old LED before you remove it, so you know what way around to put the new one in.
