I heard talk ages ago someone was in progress of getting near to some sort of converter. I think it would be brilliant if it could be made even if it was mono-coloured on your tv!

a converter to play gamegear games on a sms console?. The gamegear can display more colours though, so it would be a real headache to make that work out. Now a tv out lead for a gamegear would be an easier thing to make, and i would certainly buy one. I really dont like playing on that blurry little screen anymore, ive been spoilt by gba, ds and psp.

A great idea, that's champion! I don't play on my GG anymore, it's just I'm sick of blurry, scratched, crappy screens myself. Also with my consoles they've had it, if you press button 1 it affects the screen near the edge.
Surely someone out there would be up to making one?

I looked into this a while ago, and remember reading somewhere that it wouldn't be possible to make a gg-sms convertor. Something to do with the colours (as already mentioned, the gg uses a LOT more colours in the pallette than the sms does). I'm sure it was on a site somewhere and was written by a programmer. Of course, that's not to say it's true, just what I remember reading!

If anyone has a spare GG, give one to me But it should be possble to create a gg to tv thing. It would require some extensive hardware and software knowledge though. Maybe you could hook one up to a com port on the computer like they do with the graphical lcd screens.

An adaptor to play GG games on a Master System (or MegaDrive for that matter) simply isn't possible. There's a long & detailed thread at SMS Power with instructions on modding a GameGear to output to a TV, though I think the design is still being finetuned, and doesn't currently work with all revisions of the GG.

People always seem to forget what they don't want to know. According to a rep I once talked to at SEGA itself. A fan actually invented the Master Gear converter. I had this very same I idea some time ago, but sadly I don't have the skill with circuits to create one.

That would be great, I loved nicking mates game gears to play on, but the screens are way too small + the batterys cost a bomb.
