I have just recieved a japanese master system thats faulty, a nice big crack through the board. As it not really feasible to fix it, i was wondering if its possible to remove the cartridge connector, and bios chip and stick them on one of my spare euro smsII consoles. Has anyone done anything like this before?

Check all the other codes on the other ships as well to see if they match. And then solder away and test it out!

well the chips in a smsII are completely different, but i could pick up a euro smsI cheaply to try it out on. Does anyone know if its possible to make a successful transplant?, dont want to end up with two broken consoles

Thanks a lot for the offer Kiff but i have given up on the idea now, its far too complicated a job for my limited electronic skills. And besides the seller refeunded me the price of the console, and i already have one anyway, so i havent lost out. If anyone wants to give it a go, their welcome to have the jap sms for the price of postage.
