I like the censorship aswell, means you can type a sware word which one might do naturally if felt its needed and you get a funny phrase instead. People know you have swarn but it isnt effecting anyone at all. I defo think we should keep the censorship.
But on another note, the homophobic/ racist/ overly offensive posts (if there are any?) should be deleted and perhaps a warning system put into place.. 3 strikes your out type thing (via PM).

I have to again give my support to Sinistral on this one, I've been feeling exactly like that for a long time. Here's an excert from a PM I sent during discussion with an admin here at the end of April (6 months ago!)
"On a side note, I dunno about you but I'm starting to get a little annoyed at some of the (literally) crap topics being discussed on the forum.
It's funny to an extent, but I reckon it would look really stuipid to any guests or potential members who happened to come onto the board right now. Especially those over the age of 12..... What you reckon?"
I'll not mention who I was talking to, or what their feelings were as it was a PM and as such I'll respect their privacy. But put it this way, this is the main reason that I have been posting FAR less than I used to on this board, those that have been here a while will vouch that I used to post a LOT more than I currently do.
The 'off topic' defence is NOT valid since most forums have a LOT stricter rules than this one does, usually saying that off topic is fine, but that the majority of posts should still be relevant to the board itself.
This forum HAS gone way downhill in quality over the last six months. I'll continue to stick around and occasionally post on decent threads, but that's out of the fact that I knw the board used to be decent, were I a member coming on within the last 6-12 months I'd probably just have gone altogether.
So if Sinistral feels that way, and I feel that way, I'm fairly certain a few others may have visited expecting to see some good sega related discussion and turned off out of disgust when looking at the last 10 posts a few times.

Have to agree really, I've stopped visiting and posting as much lately. Often I've come to the site and seen posts of total nonsense, and I just can't be bothered to reply to it.

Sadistic, straight away you go right ahead any make my point for me.
Sorry, I really don't find refferences to sexual acts against children to be humerous or suitable material for a sega related forum.
Stan - If this is the first I've been posting here for a while properly then now you know why. Before you question my commitment to this community don't forgot who pays for the website/domains and who does the site maintenance and backups throughout the year.
I'm not asking for much here, all I'm asking is that you think about what you are writing before posting and don't use foul language. Surely as a bunch of intelligent individuals you can find a more constructive way to express yourself.

I agree, I think the maturity level of the site has really gone recently, the odd stupid/random topic is fine but it shouldn't become the focus, als the frequent nature in which homophobic language is used is fairly annoying.

Well judging by the amount of mentions the site has received in this months Retro Gamer magazine that has just dropped though my door I think we should all be on our best behaviour for the (hopefully) influx of new SMS fans ;D

I'm annoyed now because I was out earlier and could have picked up a copy but I didn't even think to check if the new issue was out! What is mentioned then? Or better still, scan the lot!!!

I like the censorship . I swear quite a lot, but there's a time and a place for it. If i'm at work every over word in a conversation is normally a swear word, i work with a group of people who swear just as much as me so no one is offended, however if anyone swears in front of my daughter, i am not amused. I don't think the occasional swear word is a problem, but constant swearing on a site visited by younger people (even though they probably swear more than me ) is not good. If any of my posts have offended anyone in the past, i apologise, and i will ensure that they stay clean and decent in the future . I don't like the homophobic comments either.

I still don't understand what you mean by going downhill. What ridiculous posts are you even referring to? And yes, I'm clearly aware of who pays and all of that, I just don't fully understand what you mean by 'rock bottom'. I've always enjoyed this forum and feel that it has been having more activity than ever, but I don't feel it's caused users to stop posting. Sure, some of the posts may be unnecessary, but other than those few, because they're aren't many, I don't have a clue what you mean. If you feel there needs to be more deleting, then stop by more than once a year and delete what you see fit. I'm going to go mail your shirts now.

Stan, you seem to be taking this a bit personally don't you think? FYI I have been on this forum throughout the year every day. I don't always have time to post but I do read what happens on here daily, I’m sorry you think I’m not meeting my “nonsense posting” quota that you may feel the need to impose.
I’d also like to thank you for posting people "my shirts" that I have made no money from what-so-ever, in fact I don’t even own one. Less you forget that it was you who organised that competition. Don't start throwing it back in my face because you have to follow up on your promises. It only took you a year to get those organised anyway didn’t it?
I'm sorry but if this is the way you feel Stan then you know fine well you are not required to do anything you don't want.
If this is the way you want the forum to be fine. But I refused to put my name on a site that has a forum full of nonsense posts about your personal health, homophobic posts about fictional games, and posts about public toilets. Is that enough for you?

I really don't understand where this is coming from, and that statement was intended as a statement of fact, I wasn't throwing anything at you. If you really were here every day, then you had a kabillion chances to PM me back about what shirt you wanted and so forth, since it's only been since May actually. And, though I tend to be slow, the reason it took so long was I had to wait for people to PM that they wanted one, then I had to contact the shop, then they gave me a quote, then I PMed everyone back, then I waited for responses, then I received payments, then I sent it to the shop, then they took 3 weeks to finish it, then I got them and sent them. After this I actually organized a second order, and had PMed you a few times about it, but you never responded until way after it was over. But regardless, I wasn't even making it an issue, I was stating that I was going to mail out shirts, just ending my comment. And as luck would have it, they print shop made an error shirt. They were supposed to make a blue polo but forgot, and thus I have a perfectly fine, Sega blue, medium shirt with the design on it. If you want it, it's yours. The fistula story, was in fact, just a normal story of a surgery and terrible time I was having with my health, I don't see a problem with it.

Kiss and make up and admin can PM individuals or delete posts they deem not appropriate. Retro Gamer magazine (the only Retro games magazine?) has said in its SMS feature this month that this is the best SMS site on the net, so pat yourselves on the back and stop this nonsence

That is pretty cool though. Is there somewhere online I can see that?
