Well it's Sunday evening again, and that means it's time for another GotW changeover. Stepping upto the plate this time around it's 'psycofox'.
What's it to be?

Does he even still come here? I don't seem to remember any recent posts. Well, hopefully he is.

No posts for a month or so, but his email address is listed so hopefully he'll respond to that. If not, I'm happy plugging away at Prince of Persia

Sigh, I would be if I owned it.

He deserves to be passed by purely for his spelling. ;D Seven more Arabian nights sounds good to me.

Perhaps someone should also be eliminated temporarily from the roster if they don't reply, that way we won't come across this problem again?

Not this again,i was really looking forward to a new GOTW.I've been 3 weeks without now,i can't stand another week with no GOTW. Anagrama i think you should contact the 2 next people in turn on sunday night after the new GOTW has been announced. They then have to contact you by Saturday, obviously the first in the list gets to go first if they both contact you,but at least we know that we won't get gaps.

Indeed you are! If there's no word from psycofox tonight, then you're welcome to jump in, but if you'd rather hang on and get a full week then that's fair enough.
Sim's idea about contacting a couple of people in advance is good, or alternatively we could have some kind of back-up list to pick a random stop-gap game?

Yeah, like contact three of the next in line, and whoever contacts first, if not regular, gets it.

Hey Guys, its me (pyschofox - i cant log in because i dont have my password on this computer!), sorry its tuesday and the games just coming up. Had a really hectic few weeks, started my new job and been working ridiculous hours, and moved house this weekend. anyways, excuses over, its good to be back, glad you hadnt forgotten about me. (btw i did post a month ago and said i wasnt gonna be around for ages)
for the game of the week, im going to have to choose Psychofox!! suprise suprise!
this game is absolutely genius, its set in some crazy japanese world where the fox is a sacred creature, and some badass fox has taken over, so its up to you, a cute little fox, or his buddies, a tiger in a vest, who runs fast as hell, a monkey, or a fat pink hippo (who can bash down walls). you can also pick up another litle friend called 'birdfly' who you can chuck at the enemies.
The reason i love this game is it just has so many great memories for me. when i was about 8 my cousin got a master system, and i remember playing this game for hours, but we didnt have the instructions, so we didnt know how to change animal. we always thought we needed the voodoo stick. the day we found out how to change animals was one of the best days of my life!]
anyways, about 3 years ago now, my cousin and i were talking about pyschofox, i went home, logged onto ebay, saw it, bought myself a SMS again and started playing, and i was suprised how well the game had held up. the graphics are wicked, music superb, and playability is just amazing, its the game that first got me into sms and the game that got me back into again as an adult (or as close to an adult as im ever gonna be)
im sure everyones played this game loads, but if you sit down for a few hours with it, you can have so much fun. theres loads of hidden warp zones, and theres a bonus game at the end of each level, where you have to bet on a path, then your fox walks up it and you win prizes.
my personal favourite challenge is trying to complete the ice world whilst being the hippo (all that fat and ice combined - theres a lot of sliding around!)
This is one of those games that deserved so much more attention than it actually got. Hope we all have fun playing this for a while.....

Hey, good to have you aboard! Guess I'll have to set Prince of Persia aside now and jump into Psycho Fox. It's been a while since I've played it, so I'll refresh my memory before posting any comments...

Awesome. I love this game and was so happy when I picked it up since it is one of the harder NTSC games to locate. I'll be more thorough after this thread is put into sticky format. This is the first SMS game I spent hours to get through and didn't stop playing.

I love this game, one of the best platformers around. I have completed it but that was a good 13 years ago so i'll have another go at it.If i remeber right this game was big and challenging, but wasn't there a warp at the beginning of the game to take you somewhere near the end?Someone at school once boasted he could complete it in 2 minutes or something stupid using the warp.
