Ugh, apologies to hcandersson for the lack of advance notice this time, I've had a busy weekend and it slipped my mind completely. Hopefully he'll be along soon with a top-notch choice tho...

The game of week is... GOLFAMANIA !!! The combination of nice gameplay and some RPG parts like experience and level up system which makes your golfing man gives the game a long lasting experience. And it's one of the few SMS titles which got a battery backup function built-in! Play a tournament. All your birdies (1 under par) will give you 1 exp, an eagle will give you even more. There are small bonus competitions too which pops up when you plays 18 holes, like "longest drive" and "nearest pin" and if you make it good you are going to earn more exp. Win a tournament and you got lots of exp. When you get 10 exp you will go up to level 2. Then you can higher you power, accurency (that's very good because it gets lots of easier to hit the ball with more accurency) and more. You will need 600 exp to be at the maximum level and it will take lots of time to get there, belive me! The graphic is very well designed. It got a good presentetion and a nice character graphic. The shoot out is well presented and is shown from behind like when you serve in Tennis Ace and the nice thing is that it shows the demographic with great attention to details which will make it possible to shoot very accurate balls. There is allways a little box available where you can see how the ball lies in the grass or in the sand and at this point Golfamania is even better than the recent Tiger Woods releases! The control is great too which makes it possible to plan the game and hit the ball excatly where you want it to be. But it's not easy to hit the ball if you not got very good reflexes. You will see why if you play the game. The music is classical golf music and I tend to like it unlike much of the music on the SMS the tunes is pretty nice to listen at and fits perfectly into a golf game. The saving function is absolutly superb! Golfamania will autosave you tournament after every shoot, so you can take a break when you are in put on the 12 th hole and come back a few weeks later and continue the put. I love this game and I hope you already had figured that out, because otherwise I must be a very bad writer.

This game is awesome. Man I dunno what it is but i think golf is a crap sport, very boring. But golf games, I absolutely love them, and this is one of my favourites. Probably because of Happy Gilmore, during a game of this with my brother the phrases "look at the cabbage he's in now" or "Your ball struck my foot" are said at least 50 times, and i never get sick of them.

Blame the lazy moderator. I don't have this game either, and simply am not interested in grabbing it. Looks like I'm out on this one.

I've tried this one before... Awesome title screen, decent driving, but I can't putt in this game to save my life.
Overall, I like PGA tour better.

The only Golf game i have on the master system is World Class Leaderboard and i must say i don't like this Type of game that much.
Anyway thanks the emulators i got a chance to play golfamania. Nice animated Titlescreen and the Tournament Mode with the exp. is a great idea. But as i said before i don't like golf and i also can't play it, the most time my ball hits the bunker or a tree ;D

Must admit I've never really been one for golf games (especially those with an overhead viewpoint), and an hour's play of this today hasn't done a great deal to change that. That's after I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the cart to work and being confronted with just jagged coloured lines across the screen instead It does play quite nicely, though I'm also hopeless at putting. The save feature is certainly a godsend, because there's no way I can ever sit through 18 holes in one sitting. At least it's there if I ever get the chance to finish my round...

For you who wanted a SMS game to dig into this weekend and thought that my excellent choice of one of the few battery backuped games for the SMS was boring, I got another choice for you:
Check out: Fantastic Dizzy, because it is a fantastic as it says! If you have played any other Codemaster title for the system you know that good look and quality comes big time!

Golfamania is a pretty cool game, I don't play too many golf games, because I can't be bothered reading the instructions and I'm also hopeless at putting. I didn't realise it has BB, might check it out again tomorrow.
World Tournament Golf is a half decent attempt too....

No no now, no cheating, you have to stay with Golfmania. I'd review it if I had it, nothing against the game, I just don't have it.
