This game is good, but by no means one of the best. its a standard platformer, all be it a disney one, whose games always have a touch of quality. But nothing compared to the mickey mouse games.
I finally got hold of a copy of Ultima 1V which should arrive tomorrow, can't wait....

I liked this game 10 years ago, when I played it for first time. Now, it doesn´t seem as interesting, mainly because I TOTALLY HATE THE HAMMER´S RANGE. And it sucks to need only 2 hits to die. But it´s a good game nonetheless.

And it sucks to need only 2 hits to die. Then a lot of games like Alex Kidd, Sonic, R-Type and so on suck? I find that quite challenging and better than a 2 Meter Energy Bar which shouts 'can't die'

I think that Alex Kidd and Sonic are FAR easier than Lucky Dime Caper. I can´t say that about R-Type, tough. I could beat the game, but is frustrating to do it.
It´s not only the two hits thing, but also the jump control, the short range of the hammer, and that you lose your weapon after the first hit.

I'm just getting into this one, and I can't make my mind up whether I like it or not. The controls took a bit of getting used to for a start, performing precise jumps can be quite awkward. The weapons too are a bit crap, the hammers range is terrible and the frisbees are just totally useless, I tend to just jump on enemies instead of using either of them. On the plus side though the graphics and music are great and a couple of the levels/bosses I've reached are quite tough, but never annoyingly so, which adds to the likability factor (for me anyway). I've only managed to get to the stage 5 boss so far (snakecharmer), just lost 9 lives on it . I know how to beat it but as with The Ninja, I find it hard to see enemy projectiles on an LCD telly and keep getting hit by the musical notes ;D. I'll keep playing 'til I finish it before I decide whether it's a good game or just another platformer.

The hammer is unusual in that it's active above, then behind, and only then in front of Donald, so you have to swing well in advance to hit what's in front. If you swing while jumping, though, it has a huge range. Also, www.smspower.org/maxim/Maps/LuckyDimeCaper

I love the Zillion maps (I'm pretty sure?) you made, but I'll refrain from looking at those maps until I've finished the game, walkthroughs are ruiners of games .

Wasn't me I'm not aware of any good Zillion maps on the internets.

I completed this about 15 years ago. The one thing I remember was my elder sister completed it first. That still smarts. Good game this, few annoying bits if I recall correctly, but pretty easy.
