So i won't let wait you any longer, altough here it is already monday 2 am I thought the whole day about my game of the week and i came up with.... Donald Duck - The Lucky Dime Caper The main reason for this is simple: This was the first game i bough myself, back in 1992. After a long time of saving Money, i had enough to buy one game and i bought this as i just like Donald (He is so cute ;D ) and i heard that this game should be real great. And it is The Story of this Game is that the evil Magica de Spell has stolen the lucky dime and captured the nephews of Donald. So now you play Donald and try to rescue Huey, Dewey and Louie and the Lucky Dime. So before i made a little review it is time for some education. If you remember the Game of the Week were Asterix was the game, i said that sometimes there a different names in Germany and this game is another example. While Donald has this name also here, his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie (stupid names ;D ) are called Tick, Trick & Track (stupid names too) and Magica de Spell is called Gundel Gaukeley (stupid...we had this already) and not to forget Scrooge McDuck he is called Dagobert Duck in Germany. I think there are also some other difference in the Disney universe, but that shouldn't belong here now. Now to a little review The Game itself is great in my oppionion and it is real fun to play The first thing is the graphic, i really like the background graphics and the characterdesigns, they are nearly perfect. The animations of Donald are great. The Music is nice and the typical cartoonstyle, sounds a lot like the music from Castle of Illusion What i don't like are the Weapons, while the hammer is ok the frisbees are total useless as they take to much time to throw. Also the later levels can be quite difficult but shouldn't be a problem. So the last thing to say is that i hope you like the game too

Plays fine, looks fine (Donald's animations are pretty well done), but unfortunately, it does lack a certain something and it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. However, it's still solid platforming fun.

this is one of my games that is highest on the top all list. And I agree that the music sounds like the music from Castle of Illusion (Land of illusion to....)

Excellent choice for Game of the Week! ;D I love this game so much and it has always been one of my favourites. Definately one of the best games for the good ol' SMS. I actually popped it in just the other day and went through it and it's still enjoyable. When I was younger this was quite a challenging game but I could still complete it. Nowadays I can storm through using only a couple of lives. Meaning isn't really a difficult game. The graphics are excellent, typical Disney. The sound is great, the levels are great and runs very smoothly. An overall excellent game. Buy it if you can. And just a quick tip you might already know, stick to the hammer, those frisbees are useless. Once again, good choice! ;D

Like i said, i hate the frisbees, everytime i get them i try to get hit by an enemy to lose them Back then, this game was to difficult for me, but today it is easy. The same happened with Alex Kidd in Miracle World, 10 years ago i never finished it (most time i died in the first castle) but now it is no problem to beat it. Its funny that games get easier after some years..

Odd, my strategy was always to lose the hammer and get the frisbee. That way, I could attack bosses and such from a safer distance.

One of the best platform games ever in my mind! Bright and colourful, fun to play, score to hum along to and challenging but not too hard.
I love how he shivers in the snow, and sweats in the lava rooms!! That and I love a bloke who doent like the restrictiveness of pant!
ShadowAngel: I am down with Tick, Trick & Track, my dad is Austrian and we had all the German Disney stuff when I was little!! And I also could never get past the first castle in Alex Kidd!
This is definately one of the few games I can just put on and play no matter what!

See what I mean? Look at this. Girls and their cartoony video games. Just why? And, of course, one of the few games I don't own that I want. Actually, only one of two. Figures.

Figures. ;D Yes but i was 7 or 8 years old (can't remember, it could have benn also in 1993....i'm getting old) and that was the time i was a nice, innocent girl who only played harmless cartoon games like this one (and i really had only cartoony games like alex kidd, castle of illusion or ghostbusters....). If this would be a PC Game of the Week i would have surely taken Duke Nukem 3D or Quake as my choice

I suppose, I suppose, I just found it interesting. Anyway, here's a waste of space for my 1200th post.

A Four-and-a-half star Rippen-schtonnkker for me, this - just on the edge of true greatness. Sentiment probably does come into that a bit. ;D

Am I the only one that doesn't absolutely love this to pieces, then? I mean it's decent enough and certainly looks good, but I've tried to get into it a few times and haven't really found anything that lifts it above other competent platformers.
