since I got my SMS as a birthday present in 1987, my first games were Hang-On/Safari Hunt, Ghost House & Action Fighter. My mom & dad were cool enough to buy those with the system. *MY* first game that I bought with my own money was Outrun.
Well, the first time that I got a Master System way back when, it was an SMS 2 (it got sold while I was in the Marine Corps ) So I guess technically it would be Alex Kidd in Miracle World.
The first game I ever bought, though, was a mail order from a magazine like you always used to see. You know, the NES, SMS, SNES, and Genesis game listings. I had played Michael Jackson's Moonwalker on the Genesis and loved it. So I went ahead and ordered the SMS version out of the magazine. I liked it just about as much as the Genesis version, but was a little disappointed that the final boss fight with Mr. Big wasn't in the cool outer space scene. Besides that difference, I thought they did a spectacular job on it! One of these days I'll pick it back up.
Sagaia Phantasy Star Golden Axe Warrior The Incredible Hulk Alex Kidd in Miracle World
Yeah, but it's not present on some systems. There are also a few other variations, like the Sonic the Hedgehog models.
