That's a hard question to answer, as I got my system around 1991 with about 10 games for about $20! Though I specifically remember getting Rampage Great Soccer Great Football R-type Hang On/Astro Warrior and Double Dragon with the system

Like many others, the first I played was Alex Kidd in Miracle World, at a friends house around 1990. When I got my first SMS2 in 1996, it had AK&MW built in, and came with Super Tennis, Great Football, Action Fighter and Double Dragon.

The first SMS game I ever owned was Double Dragon. The first thing I thought was, "This is so much better than the NES version!" ;D

Alex Kidd in Miricle World, Christmas 1991 when I first got the MS. That was a most fun experience:-) I got as far as Mt Kave in my first day of playing and I remember being quite proud of that. lol. The second game I played which was one I got on the same Christmas day, was Altered Beast, which for some reason got my attention. I enjoyed that game too (in fact I think this version was better than the one for the Mega Drive)

I never bought a game first hand (from a store) for more than a year after I first got it, because new ones were pretty expensive then. first game I played was Miracle World; first cartridge = Sonic; first ones I played that I'd bought second-hand = Space Harrier & Dynamite Dux; first Christmas present = Sonic 2; first Birthday = Prince of Persia; first one from a store = Lemmings. (I think)

When I got my Master System back in January, Cloud Master was my first game. Well, technically I had Hang On/Safari Hunt as the built-in game as well, but I didn't know about those immediately, so as far as I'm concerned, Cloud Master was first.

Besides the built in one or ones I think it was Lost Stars.

OK, Check it out...Fantasy Zone was my first game other than the "pack in." I was so amazed with the grapgics, I actually thought the Master System had "moving parts" because I couldn't believe what I was seeing on a home console!
