I seen this in a very old issue of EGM, in fact issue #12. But to my surprise I have not seen this trick posted any where and it works even within the Japanese version.

Trigger music and sound effects (replace the XX on the code for a hexadecimal number from 81 to A5 to listen to the game's sound tracks and sound effects. You must enable and disable the code for it to work. Note that whenever you trigger a sound effect/track, whatever sound you triggered will play only until the game itself triggers another preprogrammed sound -- i.e. when starting a new stage, dying and restarting the stage, etc)
