Hello all. I have followed this board periodically over the years and have always been amazed at the level of generosity demonstrated within. It really does seem to be a genuinely caring community. I am currently renewing my sega master system addiction after 2 long years away.
I grew up in the United States and have had a sega master system since i was eleven years old. When I was a kid I was fairly anti nes. I was constantly trying to convert my friends over to sega. I never even owned an nes until i was 26 years old.
I used to be a hardcore sms collector but a series of less than terrific trading/buying experiences (culminating in an absolutely absurd interaction) soiled my passion for collecting. Don't get me wrong, the 8 bit beauty that we all know & love has been, and will always be, my number 1 when it comes to video game systems. I just had my happy little vision of reality shattered by a few douchebags.
As a result I gave away a lot of my collection.
I kept only the system & games from my childhood (that have been owned by nobody but myself) and a few from a wonderful seller who always treated me really well.
I feel bad that I allowed one terrible person to tarnish what was a wonderful passion of mine, but things happen & you deal with them the best way that you can. Everything happens for a reason and I probably needed a break from my borderline obsessive sms collecting anyway.
Well that's my story. I am now ready to rebuild and happy to be a new part of this community. I apologize for the long intro and look forward to discussing all things master system with you in the future.
