Looking to increase my collection

Okay, I am comparatively (compared to most of you) new to the Sega Master System, having just bought my system in January. I already have 18 games (with some more on the way from ebay through a friend's account), but I can see that isn't anywhere near what some of you have and that a lot of you have these things called "doubles" that you are talking about. I have therefore decided to temporarily abandon the searchings of ebay and to ask you guys here to help me improve my collection for three reasons:

1. I feel guilty using a friend's ebay account as much as I have looking for Master System game sets.

2. I am tired of the bid and hope nature of ebay.

3. With ebay, I can know only that I am bidding on stuff that I don't already have, whereas with actual conversation with nice, knowledgable people, I can find out what I'm getting and get only stuff that I am truly interested in.

Anyway, I am just looking at this point to increase the size of my collection with whatever. The only game I am truly concerned about getting is Columns because I like puzzle games. So I am looking to get, basically, whatever I can get my hands on for, at this point, less than $5 a game. I also need to get a lightgun and a pair of 3D goggles if any of you have duplicates of those (I am willing to pay more than $5 for these items, but have no idea what fair market value is for them).

Being American, I prefer American games, at least for the time being, although I couldn't tell the difference if you sent me a non-American one as long as the title was in English. I have no doubles, so this is all on a sell basis. Those of you with AIM feel free to IM me. Others can either respond here or send me a personal message.

Stan, I'm interested in all of the boxed games you are offering me (especially the Columns) except definitely Ghostbusters and possibly Blade Eagle 3D. I already have Ghostbusters and I really see no sense in buying any more 3D games since I can't play them due to my aforementioned lack of a pair of 3D goggles. If any of the games you listed require the light phaser (I wouldn't know if any of them do), I'm likely not interested in them either at this time due to my lack of a light phaser. Anyway, IM me sometime when I'm on (I tend to be on a lot) so we can settle on a price. I'm curious though, how long would it take them to get to me from Russia?

I don't know. Good question, but you're being a bit awkward if you must insist they come from Russia. The better option would be for Stan to send them from the USA, where he lives. ;D

The Light Phaser is very easy to pick up, and well worth the few dollars it would cost (loose - about $5 or so).

The market for the glasses is centred on the ones in very good to mint condition, boxed. You can pick up a pair that work perfectly, but that are loose with minor defects like small cracks or a broken arm, for under $20 I imagine.

As well as giving you access to more games, these two accessories can provide the most fun the master system can offer, in my opinion.

Transbot, Stan's profile page says he lives in St. Petersburg, Russia, and I thus have reason to ask how long it would take to send them from there. I do intend to get a light phaser and a pair of 3D goggles (did you not see that in my first post) but am hesitant to get any more games that require them before acquiring them.

alright mate, I was joking with you - don't just assume that I'm taking the piss. I thought Stan was Russian at first.

You should be looking out now to buy bargain light phaser games before you get the gun itself, because you can test if the games work without requiring the gun - you'll need a light phaser game to make sure the gun works well.

Because you're American, I'm sure you have the original Master System power base (sort of maroon and black, chunky and squarish), but in case you have the Master System II (black, smooth, and rounded) or intend to get one, you know you obviously can't use the 3D glasses or games because there's no card slot (where you put the 3D glasses' adapter).

You should look to get a cheap 3D package off ebay to start you off, just the glasses and a couple of 3D games. I'm only encouraging you to get them quick because if you miss a good deal, it's gone forever.

Transbot, if you read the list of what I already have you would certainly have noticed that I already have 2 3D games and 3 games that require the light phaser, so having games to test the items with isn't a problem.

Yes, I have a Master System I, another thing you would have known if you read my game list as I said that Hang On/Safari Hunt was my built in game. If I had a Master System II, I would probably be trying to trade away the 2 3D games I have.
