Configuration
At the title screen, hold U+R on P1 controller and D+L on P2 controller, then press any button.
You can now set the time length of games.

Great find Ian. I have now completed the World Cup mode with virtually every country with your handy cheat. Set to 1 minute per half, score an early goal and then pass between goalie and defender until the timer runs out when playing as the weaker teams! You can't beat cheating and with Hand Ball Maradona on the end credits, no better tribute!
