Great choice and another one ive never played but do own! The screen shots look amazing and they alone would have attracted me to this game back in the day! Ill fire up the console, dust off the cart and maybe sneak a beer from the fridge over the weekend and report back next week!

Great pick! This was a game I never played back in the day and only discovered in later years when I go into retro gaming again. I do remember however always being fascinated by the box art in the Sega Catalogue.
I've been going on for many years how much I love this game and think it's an underrated hidden gem in the console's library. I've always considered it the Master System's answer to Mega Man on the NES. It's definitely not a clone but it's a platforming shmup with a nice range of power-ups.
It's true it can be a bit easy once you get the invincibility power-up, but I think it's still a fairly challenging game. There's some puzzle-solving elements in there and overall it's a great little game. I highly recommend!

Just had a quick go on this game, graphics are great! Only thing I hate is when I have got past the first boss flower thing and I die,I have to restart. Love the little boosts, I will have another go on this game once I get more time, it can get addictive.

I always thought it would be more known because it was on the front of the catalogue. I wonder why they never made a sequel? It was definitely open for one

I'll find a manual and give it another go, because this was pretty cool if confusing. Although constant taking damage is not fun - I made it to the second level and died very quickly because I got stuck on a couple of enemies in the tight caves.
I went trial and error with the powers... I think the first one makes you invulnerable and the second teleports you back to the start of the level for some mad reason. I really think pause would be better to use them, because it's cumbersome to crouch and select whilst the game continues around you.
Pretty cute presentation but having no invincibility window after being hit is awful design. I was enjoying it until I got trapped and died because of that.
Do the bosses get harder? Both the flower and the chimera-thing were wait... wait... wait... run right up to it and mash fire!

Apologies for the late reply! Ive played this a few times and although there are far better games graphically for the sms this one has really caught my attention! Its a game i’d overlooked but now its one im determined to finish, a great choice for the game club! Ps This is one game where reading the manual really helps.
