Definitely not as strong a group as the others, with Masters of Combat probably being the best of the bunch

Anybody else notice that there are usually two very easy choices, and the third choice can be quite the head scratcher?

Anybody else notice that there are usually two very easy choices, and the third choice can be quite the head scratcher? It wasnt intended though. It was a complete random selection

My selections for Group E:
Great Golf - here's a fine example of the early minimalist, iconic style done really well. The golf ball sits untouched while the player digs up a healthy divot. It tells a witty story, arguably trolling its own target demographic.
Danan the Jungle Fighter - Slightly desaturated but still sporting most of the colors of the rainbow, it's exciting and gritty. These characters are locked in battle to the death, but hey, they're still having fun out there. And it's hard to beat a winged skeleton with devil tail, swinging a sword as it flies through the air.
GP Rider - captures the extreme moment of psychotic badassery inherent to motorcycle racing. Seeing Sega console logos all over our avatar is a nice touch.
Honorable mentions: Masters of Combat - the logo is awesome. The mysterious xenomorph-like creature in the background hints at a cool story. But the featured characters aren't posed or rendered as well as they could be. Sapo Xule S.O.S. Lagoa Poluida - I'm not sure what's going on here, but our character is visibly pissed about the litter, and it's a good, exciting, cartoony scene. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - lots of cool characters to look at, nice motion lines on everything.

My votes on this group go to Sonic 2, Califronia Games 2 and Masters of Combat.
I really love the Sonic 1 and 2 art work, they hold a great deal of nostalgia for me that I can't not vote for them.
California Games 2 is a great follow up art work to the original. Bringter and more exciting in my opinion.
Masters of Combat has always been one of my favoruite box arts from when I first start collecting for the system. The fat bloke in the middle ever so slightly spoiles it from being almost perfect.
Runners up for me here are GP Rider and Heaveyweight Champ, really like both.
What the hell is going on with Wonder Boy in this one, that hair would look more at home on one of the Wimbledon covers!

Rambo III: it's Rambo, straight to the point Masters of Combat: I'm guessing goes to final Columns: simple game, simple cover
Almost voted: GP Rider

Danan - This could have also served as a cool cover for Rastan or Golden Axe, well with a different weapon in the main guys hand. Masters of Combat - A really nice bright cover, probably would have pushed me into buying it had I ever seen it on shop shelves. Sonic 2 - While the Megadrive artwork is more memorable and atmospheric, this cover is bright and cheerful, it captures what makes it so different to the 16bit release.

Sonic 2 - A lot more action than on the Sonic 1 cover, exciting to look at and attractive. Danan - I remember seeing the cover in stores and on one of the flyers packed in with the game, being a fan of heroic fantasy novels it is exactly what i want GP Rider - Should've been the cover for Hang-On Honorable mention to WWF Steel Cage Challenge as being a reminder to the good old WWF days and only 1 of the 6 cover athletes is dead, unlike other WWF game covers of the time.
