Anyone else here use VLC to watch DVDs from other regions?
I recently started using this. I'm able to watch Region 4 (Australia) because they use PAL but I'm having trouble with an NTSC disc; I put the DVD in the drive and the computer picks it up but I don't get any video or audio signals.
Anyone know what I need to do to get an NTSC disc to run on my PC?

- title Screen taken from a gamegear version... a very very bad point Neither the SMS or GG title screens have a yellow Batman badge. The yellow badge is more synonymous with the first film rather than the second; the badge is white on most Batman Returns packaging and merchandise; the only time the yellow badge appears is in the film on Batman's chest. The yellow badge on the SMS box seems a very odd inconsistency.

It's only an hour's train ride away from me so I might give it a look.

Why not have commercial sponsors on Bank of England notes instead of dead historical figures?
It would be good publicity for large companies because everyone uses money as part of their daily lives and it would be a fairly non-controversial means of increasing government revenue. I think most people would rather see a Nike swoosh on their £10 notes than pay more income tax, VAT etc.

Just bought an SMS1 on eBay for £17.50 inc. shipping. Comes with two gamepads, light phaser and sixteen games as well as Hang On and Safari Hunt built in.
This is the first time I've owned an SMS1. Had an SMS2 for a brief period when they were going cheap at Cash Converters circa 1997.
As already mentioned, most of my Sega interest has been centred around the Game Gear, but I'm eager to find out about the aspects of Sega 8-bit gaming that aren't really covered by the GG. This will be the main focus of my SMS collection; I don't plan to collect every single game just the ones that weren't released on the GG or are markedly different from the GG versions.

What baffles me is why they didn't release this version on the GG?
The GG version of Taz-Mania is one of the worst games you will ever play.

Sensible World of Soccer (SWOS)
I'd also like to see an 8-bit version of European Club Soccer.

Yeah I have one and loads of games for it. Yup, GG games are pretty cheap on eBay. So far, I have 175 out of a possible 390. The ones I'm most proud of are mint copies of The Coca Cola Kid, Ronald McDonald in Magical World, Tails Adventure (J version) and Tintin in Tibet as well as loose copies of Jungle Strike and Urban Strike.

I've been playing this since I was ten and I still can't get enough points to qualify for whatever lies beyond the standard sixteen courses.
Any tips?
