Now up to 70 different model numbers with "3005-06-D". I've colour coded the various PAL region codes which makes it a bit easier to see how the batches were manufactured.

Awesome, I'll add them with my next update. Most don't have the bios recorded anyway.
The second one (250097946) is one of the last Sega ones manufactured. From 1995, the highest recorded one is 250118319.

Thanks! Yeah, they look to be the same. Sometimes they make minor alterations with different names etc where you can find out working titles and other unknown stuff, so I thought it was worth checking.
I scanned the blue "SDI" catalogue, but my one has a big tear in it. If you ever get the opportunity to scan your better conditioned one it would be appreciated, but it's not a pressing issue.
These HK catalogues are really hard to come by, so great pick up there!

Hong Kong catalogues, nice. Can you check to see if they're the same as the ones scanned here and here? Also, we don't have many HK serial numbers, so serial numbers would be really appreciated in this thread. Nice lot!

That's the launch model too, great buy! I got this one for xmas 1990. It was £190 with Altered Beast at launch, in less than a year it was £130 with Sonic!

Because the factory moved from Hong Kong to China. Some consoles have that sticker too from just after they moved. I'm not aware of any fake sms hardware. This pad is definitely real.

Some TecToy software sales from 1992. I'm guessing that they're combined with MD & GG versions (according to the article they had sold 800,000 SMS, MD, & GG in Brazil by then ... the majority of which would have been SMS). SMS sold best in regions where it's difficult to obtain sales numbers from that period, and Sega haven't really released any numbers themselves (beyond combined numbers for Sonic etc). en-sretroshock.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/tec-toy-star-that-rises.html
