Well, that's ballpark enough for me. Order placed! I now have every game ever made for the system! Muhahahaha! Well...sorta Thanks again! You need the romset and a memory card dude. Neither are difficult to get I believe I've obtained a complete romset (though I couldn't verify all imports) and I'm sure I have an SD card laying around here somewhere. Any particular type I need?

If its from freeze sms its perfect. And any fat32 compatible sd is fine

I do have a 10 year old laptop Windows PC, if need be. I just prefer not to go there unless I absolutely have to

Lode Runner. I know there is one on the SG-1000 and I've played it a bit, but would have been nice with an upgraded version for the Master System.

Omg i didnt know master ever drive existed!!!where fo you get one and how does it all work??? www.stoneagegamer.com/flash-carts/master-everdrive-master-system/I ordered mine there. While I haven't received it yet, they were friendly, helpful (responded to email quickly) and seemed to have the best price I could find. I hope that helps. Cheers! P.S. How it works: Game roms go on an SD card. Card goes into the Everdrive. Everdrive goes into your SMS. Enjoy every game ever made for the system! At least I'm hoping it's that easy

Do keep in mind that the Master Everdrive comes in two different versions .. with and without USB. In case you intend to use it for homebrew development, i'd recommend the version with USB. Alternatively you could ask Krikzz the part numbers of the USB port and controller and solder them on yourself

What benefit does the USB port add for development?

You can use a USB cable to download data to the cartridge to avoid having to remove the SD card. In theory you can also build in some serial connectivity in your game and implement some debugging features, but I don't think anyone did that yet. You could also make a USB-connected dumper in the same way.
Personally, I didn't think it was worth the extra money. My SMS and TV are not next to the computer anyway.

Yeah, I had the same take on that, Maxim. SDs are pretty big these days and SMS games are relatively tiny. I didn't think it was worth it either. I don't see it as a big inconvenience to load something onto the SD and then into the everdrive, even if you're developing something. My classic console center is also a little too far from my computer.

Well, I've gone through all the roms, separated the wheat from the chaff and now I'm getting ready to copy them onto the SD card. How should I format the card? I'm on a mac and my options are mac os, ms-dos, and exfat. I'm thinking ms-dos but would like to confirm this with someone before I proceed.
