I know a lot of you got a SMS as a child from your parents. My question is, if any of you have any children, have you introduced them to the SMS? If so, what games do you play?
Given my small library, the main two I play with my daughter is Double Dragon and Rampage. She enjoys co-op with me, and we have a blast playing these two. I have more co-op options on the Genesis, but as far as SMS, these are the two we play the most together. We even trash talk the opponents on DD, which she has fun doing as well (we tend to keep it silly).
Hopefully I can get her to play some others, but I think right now these are the only two she will want to play since they're co-op.

I don't have children, but have introduced my sister to SMS. She's like my daughter as being 16 years younger than me. She isn't really interested in video games and it seems to be an unfair competition playing against her, so I have only shown to her the most well-known games like AKIMW, Sonic etc. Actually she finds some of them much harder than today games. Whoever has children, I'd suggest making something like this: www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=79920

Yeah a lot of games today lead you by the hand, and you can save almost anytime. Let's not forget checkpoints!
I'm hoping as she gets older she will still enjoy them and get better. Some games are too hard for her, so she doesn't enjoy playing them.
Hopefully I will snag a few more co-op games soon so we will have more variety on the SMS!

My daughter just turned three. She's noticed my SMS games on a shelf. I like to arrange them so a couple of them are facing with the front of the box outward, and she especially likes the cover of Cloud Master. But I don't really want her playing these games yet. Within that cute cover art is a game that can reduce grown men to fits of controller-smashing rage. Not that I actually get that worked up... but I could see it being very frustrating and confusing for her. She would want to have time to ask what everything is on the screen, and there's no time to explain that that floating pig's head or bowl of noodles are out to 'kill' you, or why you can fly 'over' stuff in the background but not the rock in the foreground that pretty much looks identical to background objects.
I've been thinking of making some simple games that are interactive, but don't have goals particularly... like a game where she can make animals run and jump. Not SMS games, since I don't know how to code, but it's something I would be able to put together with Game Maker.

Father of four, three girls one boy. My middle daughter - soon to be 11, is the only one of my children that has ever enjoyed the SMS experience. Same games, rampage and double dragon. Quartet if I let her have the jet pack! Although I have nearly the entire NTSC library, very few games have that visual appeal to convince her to try others. I have bought several PAL games for my youngest daughter on eBay. Mostly Disney type games. Ariel Assault is pretty easy for little ones to try. If think of some others I'll let you know.

My son (6 years) and me share the old SMS from time to time. I have been heavily into modding the games to make them easier for him to play, making "trainer patches" for games like Alex Kidd (with game editor KiddEd), Altered Beast, Shinobi and Sonic. At the moment we face off in the frisbee event in California Games
