Good video. I feel the same way about the Bubsy games on the Mega Drive.

NEW EPISODE! Just in time for Halloween. Our run of Ghostbusters videos ends with a full Sega Channel episode focused on the Genesis Ghostbusters game. I got to include some cool home movie footage in this one. Hope you enjoy!

I really love this channel! Your videos are amazing and I only wish I could make these videos with you. In all honesty, I'm very jealous of you. I'm saddened I didn't get the Sega experiences that you did growing up, and I'm more jealous I didn't have an amazing dad that you did. Hopefully I can at least give these experiences to my children and they'll look back with wonderful Sega memories.

Great video! It's a good mixture of personal recollections along with solid research about the context of the era and how the game was developed. I haven't played the Genesis/MD version but my interest is definitely piqued now that I know it's developed by Compile. I don't know a whole lot about Compile but the more I learn about that era, the more they seemed to be important to Sega in a lot of ways.
Regarding the first Ghostbusters video game, I have a lot of respect for its author, David Crane. And in some ways it's an interesting game. It's just not what kids were expecting. It's an unusual hybrid, almost like a light business sim with some action elements. But it had none of the hilarious humor, and really none of the scary aspects of the movie.

Talking of Ghostbusters, I am seeing it in the cinema tonight! I went to see it this afternoon. Already seen it a couple of times at the Prince Charles (London cinema that specialises in retro films), but it's been great to see a proper theatrical release. I was only 3 in 1984 so I didn't get to see GB in the cinema when it first came out.

Does anyone know what's happened to segamastersystem.com (apart from the obvious), also Tyler's YouTube channel has been taken down. I know his wife paid a fair bit to get the URL back from squatters, it's a shame to lose it back to them again.

He is still active though with his My Retro Life channel: www.youtube.com/c/MyRetroLife/videosNot sure what's happened to the domain name, would be a shame if it was lost again.

I went ahead and started domain forwarding to SEGA8BIT, so segamastersystem.com now forwards here for the time being. I may or may not decide to do something different with it down the line but right now I have no plans!
